  1. Yep. We drained the third chamber only down to the point we wanted to drill above. It worked out great.
  2. I disagree with the not drilling part. You have to keep in mind that when you cut and overflow box down so that it will fit into the back chamber, you will be losing GPH because your siphon will drain the overflow box faster then it will fill up. I learned all of this when researching how to convert my 29 gallon biocube. The best way to go is to drill the tank. David (Epic reef) drilled mine for me with no problems. It was drilled with a full tank of water and live stock. Trust me I know its crazy and it scared the **** out of me but it's worth it. It worked out great and eliminated all of the hassle with figuring out an over flow. Let me know if you have any questions and I will help as much as I can. Just PM me. Thanks for listening. I know that the pictures are small. I can post more later, or just take a look at this link to the DIY section towards the bottom http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/7002-nano-reefers-show-your-mods/
  3. I sure do; however, tomorrow is a wash for me now. I have to drive into San antonio after work. Maybe I could meet Monday.
  4. I'll take some pics tomorrow of what I have in there already and post them. I'll send you a PM when I get them posted.
  5. This would be great. I would love some of the a. valida. Will you be around Sunday?
  6. Hi there. I recently hooked up my MH light and have been wanting to try my hand at some SPS corals. Before I do I wanted to test the waters as they say before buying a bigger piece. I was wondering if anyone had a small piece that they could spare. Dena gave me some pieces but they dont seem to be doing to well since they were already far going when I got them. I think they were to stressed already. They were some pieces that she offered me to try out that she had gotten from another persons tank. NOT HER OWN. So if anyone could help out that would be great. I live in South Austin.
  7. well Laura, seeing that they want 1.......Full Name 2.......Full Home Address 3.......City, State & Zip code 4.......Tel# and that they are having a drivier come by and pick it up, they are more then likely trying to rob you. See, they get your address and phone number then call you to see if you will be home. If you say no then they will probably ask if there is anyone else there that can take the money when the driver comes. If you say no then they have you address and the knowledge that no ones home.
  8. I work by the airport so let me know if you come a little further in so we can make arrangments. Thanks again.
  9. do you ever come into Austin?
  10. hey. thanks for the responce and offer but I have read some bad stories about grape caulerpa tanking over tanks when it reproduces so Im going to pass on this type. Again, thanks for the offer.
  11. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to trade, or had any free macroalgae that they could part with. Right now i have cheato in my refugium but I have been wanting to get different types to put in there. I do have a teal polyp frag that I could trade. It has about 6 polyps on it. I also would like to get some rubble rock. I have some poylps that I fragged on a little piece right now that is over growing. I need to place it on another rock but I dont have any to spare. Please let me know if your interested.
  12. well I bought the sump which came with the bioballs in the first chamber. I then had Dave from Epic Reef put in the bubble traps for me. he did a great job. All i need now is to install my ATO which im going to do tonight and add some more algea to the sump. hey is the dragons breath macro that im trading you for good for the sump?
  13. Well the brain coral is doing a little better. It's opened today but not to the point as it was before. I think it will be ok.
  14. I'm not sure if it was raised to fast. The buffer instructions say to add daily until ph raises to 8.3. It says it will take anywhere from a day to a week.
  15. I added the amount of buffer that the directions said to. It's the type that raises and maintains the ph at 8.3 so I don't believe I over doesed it.
  16. I just added a buffer to my 29 gallon to raise the ph because it was low (7.3). I then added a drop of iodien that I got at the aqua dome. Went by the instructions. It said to add a drop per 25 gallons once a week. When I added this my brain coral deflated and let out all of this brown stuff. This is the first time this has happened. Everything else is fine. Should I be worried?
  17. that would be great. I dont know how to measure out what i have since it grows stright up and down. where in central austin are you. we could meet somewhere if needed.
  18. that would be cool. how much are you looking to trade? this stuff grows fast. Its already starting to grow on part of the rock and a piece of polyp frag that I have in there.
  19. Hey is the test kit just like the one the link goes to? If so I'll take it to. I really need one. Is it an old kit or is there still a lot in them?
