  4. LOL. MAYBE I WOULD HAVE IF YOU LOOKED OUT FOR UR BOY ! Especially since we both had a pass . lmao
  5. Wow... Movin along at warpspeed Dustin I'm tryin to keep up man. BTW I measured that center brace and drew it out on a piece of glass and put money under the glass on your stand. Let me know if it costs more to make those 2 cuts and ill pay you what i owe but i dont see 2 cuts costing more than that.
  6. Looks like everyone has given some good advise on this subject. I have tried lots of things from the lemon juice to copperband butterfly fish. I will say I have not seen any results from the lemon juice, but have had GREAT results injecting lugols solution in them ( also works on mojano). Kalk mix works if you leave the pumps and powerheads off but on the ones that overhang on ledges.... well its pretty impossible to smother those. Peppermint shrimp in my opinion are 100% the way to go because they eat them and wont starve when they are all gone. What mike was saying is right when you go to war you need to be sure you have enough troops to fight the battle. Also shrimp are scavengers so they will eat when food is introduced and if they get trained on that food then they will only eat the food and leave the aiptasia, so I limit the amount of food and how often i feed to keep the shrimp buisy looking for the pests. I like fat fish so i keep seaweed in there for them and all seems to work out.
  7. I'm with everyone else. I was completely satisfied with them and would order from them anytime.
  8. Yeah scissors have always worked for me with great results. I use tool ( the white stuff people use for weddings ) just put that arround, and either super glue or rubberband it to secure the frag till it is attached. You can also stick a toothpick through the stalk and secure the toothpick to the rock with a rubberband, these work very well.
  9. Nice pics. Awesome clams.
  10. You can get some glass hole saws and drill them yourself, its easy. and the holesaws are pretty cheap like 15.00 a piece shipped.
  11. RESEALED, REDRILLED, REFILLED, AND READY TO GO SUMP Sorry the pics are so bad, I took them with my phone. I did away with the closed loop idea and put my mp40 on it... This was the best idea yet. I think I can surf on the wave that this thing is producing. Next is going to be finishing the canopy and the back, we just need to cut down the back to match how much we cut off of the canopy and trim it all out then paint.
  12. I've got some orange digi, but i live in killeen just let me know... What kind of sps do you have ?
  13. Thank you. Honestly I had no idea how this build was gonna go, but Dustin really came through. It is a GREAT idea to have someone there to look at it as the process is going on to bounce ideas back and forth. I sure didnt think I'd ever have something other than a basic system and he talked me into just getting in and doing it right. I still will be pretty simple but its alot more than anything ive ever had .
  14. I checked my tracking on the super squirt and it looks like it may bbe here today or tomorrow I can't wait ... Oh and I'm really thinking about cutting down the canopy to 12 or 14 in tall. I wanted it tall because of the light but it looks wierd being that tall. I primed and sealed the stand last night, we still need to put trim on the canopyand figure out what im gonna do about how tall it is lol.
  15. My opinion on this is if you work for your money you should be able to spend it on something you enjo. Whats the point in working if you cant enjoy a little bit of what you work so hard for, and you do have something to show for it. Every time someone comes to my house and sees my tank the expressions, comments, questions, and compliments make it just that much more worth the money. Your avrage everyday person couldn't imagine having the ocean in their house, and we "reefers" have something that those people dont ... Guts enough to try our hand at owning a piece of the reef. Everyone deserves a hobby, most people have them.... Their going to spend their money on their hobby so we should be able spend our money on our hobby JMO. When its all said and done its your decision what you feel is best for you. I hope this helps.
  16. lol sorry about the nnights and weekends Dustin. I can't wait to get the rest of the stuff I ordered so we can get this thing plumbed up. There will deffinately be pics of the plumbing when we get it done and tested. When I get all the aquascape done I will be happy.... I think that's the part I dread worse. Thank you Dustin for ALL the help and pictures I owe you bigtime. thank you kristen for loaning me ur husband and puttinng up with us and the late nights, and thank you azcummins for the tools because without those I surely wouldn't have this tank right now lol. (i will never try to drill a tank with a dremel again)
  17. I had one for sale for the longest time man. I woulda let it go cheap too bc it was just chillin in my sump
  18. I will be in the market for another on not now but soon. I have one on my 90 gal , and want to put one on the 40 gal Im in the process of building. If you still have it and are wanting to get rid of it in june hit me up and I'll probably buy it .
  19. You might try dropping a few sinking pellets in there... But not to often or to many mysis could get sucked up by the filter, unless you shut the pump off while you feed.
  20. We got the stand skinned out tonight. We still gotta cut out doors, trim, and paint then were done with the stand. Next will be the canopy, and last task is finishing the plumbing for the closed loop. I think I'm gonna get an ocean motions wave maker to distribute the flow, this way I dont really have to worry about three of the returns blowing 400 gph and one blowing 2000 gph. We will be posting more pics soon.
  21. LOL Yea he is right thats why mine is in the garage, and you can probably find a coralife 65 or 125 for cheap.
  22. Yea the hydors will make alot of noise. I took mine off of the wavemaker and bought a vortech because of that.
  23. Is the metal shaft broken? If not it may be something else, you should be able to remove the shaft. You might try dissasembling it and rinse it out to see if maybe there is anything foreign in there causing the noise. I've got one in my garage I'll pull it apart and take a look at it to see if maybe something else could cause this noise.
