I went to the fish store to check out if the metal pin shaft can be removed, and I was right... it shouldn't. I am contact prizm to see if I can buy the motor unit for replacement. I got this skimmer for free, but i will consider the upgrade when I have a sump or a fancier tank. thanks.

my prizm protein skimmer has been making rattling noises, the kind that has the impeller blades spinning and hitting something all together. I have disassemble the skimmer, and found the metal pin shaft for the motor comes off, and probably caused the rattling noise when the thing is spinning at faster rate. Do yall know a quick fix to this? or do I just need to get the replacement part? thanks.
