  1. Thanks for the advise. I'm assuming you can buy the fish holders, do you know how much they run if you can? I'm not sure what you mean by "cut an overflow"? Are you meaning to drill some holes on both sides? I'm not sure a fish holder would work. I forgot to mention I use the lid with the compact fluorescence. I'm not sure if it could close with the holder over the side. I'm pretty sure it won't but don't know the thickness of the holder. I never paid attention to the thickness before
  2. I am looking for a way to cultivate Tigger-Pods for my 24 gallon nano cube. Will they do ok in the back of the tank? Could I cultivate them in an old milk jug with an air stone (read that on another site)? I have added them in the past, but directly into the tank. I want to provide a source for/in my tank. In case you unfamiliar with nano cubes they have a built in 3 section filter system in the back of the tank. The water goes into the left chamber, into the middle chamber, and then into the right chamber where it is pumped back into the tank. The left chamber has two long sponges. The middle chamber has on short sponge. The right chamber has the pump. I could add some small pieces of live rock to the middle or right chamber.
  3. Just a thought, I've read people saying their clowns were to big for anemones and stressed them out to the point of killing them. These new anemones seem small, and I hate to see one die in a tank. I don't remember which website forum this was on, but it might be worth looking into.
  4. Any pics of the tank from when it was setup or any current pics?
  5. Robb, you did the right thing. Those errors are typically with the Webserver (software hosting the site). The admin or someone with admin rights needs to look into it, which he/she apparently did. Thanks Admin!!!!
  6. You mentioned your levels are unremarkable. What parameters are you testing? Salinity, temp, nitrates, phosphates, etc? There has to be something off to which the snails are more sensitive. If you can give us everything you have tested so far that could give us a good starting point.
  7. What kind of corals are you looking for? Anything you want to avoid?
  8. So, I have a few aiptasias in my tank. I have read different accounts of people using lemon juice, joe's juice, aiptasia-x, and home brews to get rid of these. I want to avoid putting to much in my tank so I am trying to avoid adding foreign matter in the tank. If anyone has thoughts on this I am open and would like to hear them. Best ways to apply them in case it comes to that might be good also. I know that real peppermint shrimp eat aiptasias. I have a Blackeye Thicklip Wrasse aka Hemigymnus melapterus (about 2-3 inches right now) that I am afraid might kill the peppermint shrimp. I've heard that some wrasse kill shrimp. That particular kind of wrasse is supposed to be nonagressive and he seems to get along with my pistol shrimp and hermit crabs. Any thoughts here on the wrasse shrimp cohabitation are welcomed as well. With the two thoughts above this has led me to look into getting a Berghia Nudibranch which exclusively eat aiptasias. They seem to be 10~20 online, but shipping is a lot just for the nudibranches. Anyone know of a LFS that carries them? If anyone would like to sell one or more I would be interested. Anyone like to get in on an order if it comes to that? Any thoughts on this approach would be welcomed as well.
  9. Are you saying you have an aiptasia in a bucket? Are you trying to isolate and kill it?

  12. Michael, sounds like a great idea. I'm curious to see how your trip goes. If you could post anything you learn about your trip that might be useful as well. What kind of things you found/saw and best places you found to look. The TPWD (Texas Parks and Wildlife) might be a good place to look for information before you go. This is one of their links with general rules. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/a.../general_rules/
  13. I would like one two if you still have both.
  14. Just some words of caution. If you go with something pre-wired I would try and go for the outdoor kind. If you decide to go with indoor lights or do the wiring yourself, you might want to build an water tight enclosure with a clear (for LED light to penetrate) plastic cover to prevent moisture from getting to your new light setup. The indoor lights are not designed for water and wiring yourself to be water proof could be tricky. You could run into some complications after your setup has been up for a while. Complications like corrosion of parts or something shorting on you. I could be overcautious in this department, but it is electricity and water.... If you go with the enclose I think you can find some online pretty easily. You also might be able to find something you can adapt for your purpose at Home Depot in outdoor lighting. You might even be able to get by with caulking a plastic box with a clear lid. If anyone has other thoughts please chime in. I am not an expert, just don't want to see hard work being lost and especially don't want any harm come to a member or their fish.
  15. How much do you want for the blenny. Have any pics?

What do you have left? Are these shown in the pics above? If not do you have other pics?
  17. The 4" cross is not counting the tentacles.
  18. I don't have a real high quality camera, but here are two pics. The foot is about an 1 1/2" -2" in diameter. The top is about 4" in diameter.
  19. I have a LT/Corkscrew Anemone that I am looking to sell. It has some very nice bright green and purple colors. Looking for $40. I live in the Wells Branch area of town.

  21. I'm looking for some Aquarium Maintenance Software. I've seen some of these online but wanted to get members opinions on which one(s) you guys like and why you like them. The ones I've seen help you track trends, water changes, expenses, and so forth. Please let me know your opinions, I'm interested to see what people actually use if any. Thanks!!!
  22. I like to get some of the live rock and maybe an emerald crab.
  23. Still haven't seen the skunk cleaner shrimp. How long do they take to molt? I tested the water and also to it to LFS to have tested. Nitrates and Nitrites were undetectable. Other parameters looked good as well. I had them test salinity, calcium, and everything else just incase I missed something.
