  1. My two cents, if you soak that pump in straight vinegar, it will look like new the next morning!
  2. Howdy folks! I just upgraded to (6) T5 lights, so I dont need these (4) 46.5 inch 110w VHOs anymore. They come with the ARO ballast, cords, endcaps and reflector, ready to go. I bought these bulbs in August or September (I will find the receipt) and they have run every day for 7 hrs. I had these on my 90gallon Oceanic, but my opinion is that they just dont do the job for SPS. Mushooms, some zoos and star polyps, no problems though. The light kit without the bulbs is $180, with the bulbs its $267 on hellolights. I have the (2) URI 10k Aquasuns and (2) of the Super Actinics. Now for the subjective section of my sale. I have heard some folks say that these types of lights are good for 6 months. If thats the case, the color spectrum has shifted and they should be replaced. Some folks say they last a year, which would mean these bulbs have 6 months of life left. Seeing that I run them for 7 hours a day, I hope its the latter. I only bring this up so that you can make an infomed decision. I think the bulbs look fine, just not as bright as (6) T5s I would like to get $200, but dont be afraid to shoot me a PM with an offer. The weight scale is not included. http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp?PageA...&ProdID=304
  3. It was just mine, sorry. I thought those with incomplete or nonexistent orders were working with John at reefcleaners to get their orders straight? He was well aware that orders were goofed, but he didnt elaborate on what was being done about those other orders. I feel guilty now
  4. John emailed me back pretty quickly, I recvd my shipment on Wednesday
  5. Well, I bought one from the filter guys. Jim about talked my ear off, answered every question that I had and I bought it right then. I sent emails to other companies and most of them just pointed me to their website. Russ from Buckeye called me Saturday, but I had already ordered by then. Unit still hasnt arrived though.
  6. I need to buy an RO/DI unit (new), and I'd like to know which units y'all are using out there. Also, if you could go back and do it again, what would you do differently, TDS? Pressure guage? Different installation method? Warranty times? Bad customer service
  7. I'm just curious, has John from reefcleaners responded to anyone via email?
  8. *sigh* Why do these things always happen to me? I spoke to Robb, either my order wasnt included with the rest of youse, or someone has my order mixed in with theirs. I have sent an email to John at reefcleners. Here is what I ordered: Order Items Qty Name SKU Price Total 15 Nassarius Vibex 5554446 $0.50 $7.50 11 Nerite Snails (Large) 10112 $0.89 $9.79 30 Zig Zag Periwinkles 44444 $0.20 $6.00 10 Florida Cerith 47745 $0.55 $5.50 Most people have "one of those days", I have "one of those lives" Rey
  9. I dont suppose anyone has Robbs info to call him? I'm still at work
  10. I bought a few items (60) as well, see y'all. Prefer the north pickup if possible, but I'll go wherever
  11. please dont shoot the messenger, but did everyone use the "austinreefclub" code to recv 15% off?
  12. If thats Assasins Creed for PS3 (just making sure) I'm in. Also like to look at your Marvels, which titles do you have, or is it too many to list? I'm in Gtown too
  13. I use an airpump with 2 airstones to aerate the water and 2 maxijet 1200s. I let it mix overnight. A heater would be nice to be able to add the tank to the water when its been cold outside (since the Brute is in the garage). Normally, I'll fill up a jug the next day and keep it in the house to add to the tank. I wonder if the heater could melt the can if it stayed close to the sides long enough?
  14. Good news! Skimmer is working the best it ever has! Making the really large crusty looking skimmate. I did 3 things. 1. added phosban reactor with activated charcoal to sump 2. started using Kents Liquid Calcium reactor 3. ran skimmer pump for a couple of days in a 1:1 mix of water and white vinegar. I did note that when I first put the pump in the vinegar mix, it was making the very frothy (alkaselzer) bubbles. Right before I went to bed, the bubbles looked larger. That night I put the airtube under the water surface so that water would get sucked in through there too so it would get cleaned. Next day, I pulled the tube out to get air and left it like that all day. When I got home last night, the bubbles were not frothy at all, much larger and very smooth. Rinsed the pump out with water a few times and popped it into the sump, lowered the riser tube almost all the way down and cranked it up. Skimmate started to form quickly but was larger and no where near as foamy as it had been. Sump didnt fill up with bubbles and its working great!

Group buy? LOL!! Actually, I just got one a couple of weeks ago, pretty straight forward. I need a Linksys WAP11 to connect to it so I can see it on my wireless network via the ipod touch or blackberry
  16. Thought you guys might enjoy this, pretty nifty diagram: http://wetplantlogic.com/wordpress/wp-cont...ectrical-v2.jpg hopefully I dont get spanked for this, but this is the root link for this person's tank. You should see the plumbing diagram! http://wetplantlogic.com/wordpress/http:/w...tegory/follies/
  17. never cracked one of those open, but the best solution is to probably rotate the end caps with known good ones one at a time (with the power off of course). In other words, take a working endcap from one of the working bulbs and swap it for a non working bulb's endcap. I know that sounds like a pain, but it seems to be the only way to first rule the end caps out. Then you're looking at wiring or a ballast problem.
  18. I have a Euroreef CS6-2 with the Sedra 3500 pump, and my pump is making wayyy too many bubbles, to the point that it comes out the riser tube (even with a foam filter on it), the sump water turns white with bubbles, then my main tank turns white with bubbles and you cant see anything. I have tried letting the skimmer run for a while and let the fish bump into stuff, but it never stops. I then tried mixing some fresh salt water overnight, then putting the pump in a clear bucket to watch the action, and it looked like someone dumped a box of Alkaselzer in there, it was foaming and bubbling like crazy! So it cant be my tank water. I even tried moving the 1/4 inch spacer from the front of the impeller to the rear and that did reduce the amount created, but it seems the bubbles are so small, it just foams. Any thoughts? Oh, the impeller is about 3 months old and not missing teeth. I pinged Euroreef and they gave me some tips and pointed me to http://www.euro-reef.com/euro-reef-product-maintenance.asp I was wondering if any of youse have a skimmer that uses the same pump and if I can bring mine over to try on your skimmer. That way i can see if the problem is with my pump? This is my impeller: http://euro-reef.com/pdf/reference/euro-re...er-assembly.pdf This is what my pump looks like, it has the 3/4 inch outlet: http://www.f3images.com/IMD/250/AG1633/AG1633_1.jpg

  20. Now thats an idea! I would pay 5 bucks for a better and more accurate test. "Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door"
  21. Can you put that in an excel sheet and/or html so that I can just plug in the numbers?
