  1. great subject! I have been checking params on my tank, 90G oceanic. I bought a red sea magnesium kit, and I must be pretty dumb, cause in 3 tries I cant get the color to turn blue unless I start adding a second syring of chemical C to the test tube. My question is this, what Mag test kits do y'all use?
  2. Hiya Clint, that looks great! I'm curious, can you post some info about the bulbs you're using (brand etc) and placement from front to back? I'm about to convert from (4) 110w VHO's to (6) T5s and not sure about the bulb combo I'll use. Rey
  3. I agree, temp adjust and toss 'em in. Drip is good for fish but the peppers do well with a quick drop in. Rey
  4. I'd like the hammer coral, sending PM to you.
  5. Link didnt work for me, could be cause I'm at work?
  6. Sorry Mac, dont really need any trades at this time, but i would be curious about some California purple tort?
  7. we bought the kids some deco kits for Xmas, my son put his up, but my daughter decided she didnt want it. So, rather than have 4 running tanks, we have decided to sell it. I'm going to post it on this site before I post it on maast. I'm in Gtown and work in Round Rock, so I can meet you there if you like. Prefer to sell it since I could use the cash. See pics. This is it http://www.theaquaticdepot.com/tom-aquariu...n-nano-ree.html. We also have a 5lb bag of carib sea sand as shown in the pics. 60 bucks for both as a pair.
  8. Mine looks the same, but I dont have bubble algea. Still an open question, is it normal? I have crabs, snails, baby serpent stars in mine. I've been scooping out some of the red hair. Rey
  9. I wonder if they are begining their spawning routine?
  10. I know aquatek and river city have bulkheads, but I would call before going.

  14. I have this HOB shown in this picture. Works like a champ! The j tube was fractured at the top of the arc, but it was repaired and does not leak. I will throw in the corner tank, stand, glass lid, 10 gallon aquarium(used as a sump) and return tubing. fyi, the tank has not been used for some time and may need to be resealed, but I'm no expert on that stuff. 30 bucks and its yours. I live in Gtown but can meet you in RR or N Austin.
  15. sounds like dropsy or a similar bacterial infection. Maracyn Two should work, but quarantine him before you treat him.
  16. got an anti-siphon hole in the pvc somewhere? Just as a test, cover it for about 10 minutes. If I had a pump, I would lend it, but only have one, sorry..
  17. Is anyone going to Schertz (San Antonio) and back to Austin anytime soon? I'm trying to buy some lights from Bigun, but we werent able to meet this weekend. If anyone is going, I would be willing to pitch in for some gas. I work in Round Rock, live in Gtown and can meet you in Austin, RR or Gtown. PM me please.
  18. can I come by to see these? I'm in Gtown too. Please call or text me at 512-680-7742 Rey
  19. From a website, gotta feed it: The Tube Anemone is best kept in a reef with a soft, deep substrate. It creates its tube from the nematocysts that it has discharged. Their coloration is highly variable and the most popular colors are bright orange, bright purple and bright green. The ideal aquarium for the Tube Anemone is one with a deep sand bed, plenty of live rock and a refugium for a natural food source. They are non-photosynthetic and do not require intense lighting. In fact, they are nocturnal in nature and will take time to begin to open during the illuminated hours. Because they are not photosynthetic, they need to be fed regularly when it is fully expanded. Feed small frozen foods such as brine or mysis shrimp, chopped pieces of fish and zooplankton.
  20. If you want really good corals (can be pricey sometimes) Austin Aqua Farms in Taylor. Matt has really nice stuff!
