  1. No problem JoeK. Hope you get to feeling better. Stephen
  2. I'm a little concerned about containers. I have 3 rubbermaid containers, 3 plastic tubs, and several buckets, but if anyone has any laying around could you please bring them with you just in case? Thanks. Everything else is still online for tomorrow. Hope the weather clears. Stephen
  3. Mike, Do what you need to do for your job, it looks like we have the move covered well. Sorry you can't make it, but if you get off work feel free to come by and grab some beer and pizza. Would love for you to see the systems I have set up. Stephen
  4. Since a few of you that have offered to help need to get back home by early afternoon, I would like to kick this off at 10:00. If you plan to meet me at my house first, then try to be there by around 9:30, so we can be a Shane's by around 10:00. Please let me know where you plan to meet up so I will know who to look for at my place before we head to Round Rock. My place: 11610 Autumn Ridge Drive Austin, Texas 78759 (NW Austin off 183) Home # 257-9550 Cell # 695-2013 Link to Yahoo map http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG...30.410486&mag=5 Shane Lafferty's place: 3358 Pioneer Crossing Round Rock, Texas If you need Shane's #, please PM me and I will send it. Link to Yahoo map http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG...30.401307&mag=7 The drive directions on this map seem confusing, the easy way is: Go north on I35 thru Round Rock, exit HWY 79, turn right onto HWY 79. Go up HWY 79 to Red Bud (a little way past the Dell Diamond). Take a left on to Red Bud at the light. Just a litte ways past the turn, you will see a neighborhood sign named "Trailside". The street is Pioneer Crossing. Turn right on Pioneer Crossing. Address is 3358 Pioneer Crossing, about a block and a half down on the left. I've had one request for Miller Lite, so I'll have it, Bud, and some O'Douls icing down. If you want something else, please let me know and I'll be happy to get it. I'll order pizza when we start to head back from Shane's with the stuff. We'll have for vehicles that I know of: Shane's truck James' van Chase' blazer (my step son) My Trailblazer I think this should be enough, but if you can bring something that can haul, all the better. We will be moving: a 130g Acrylic tank, canopy, stand, sump, lights, and equipment (big Trigger Systems skimmer, pumps, lots of plumbing and equipment) a 45g Quarantine tank with canopy, stand, and lights JoeK, I think I have enough containers and buckets, but if you have extra's I would appreciate you bringing them as a just in case. Mike, If you can bring a truck, great, but hopefully we will have enough vehicles, so its your call. Everyone else, Again, my thanks. Let me know if you think I'm missing anything. Stephen
  5. Looks like we're definitely going to try this on Sunday. I would like to get started at around 10:00, but we can start later if y'all prefer. Also, let me know if you rather meet at my place (off 183 and Oak Knoll, and caravan over to Shane's, or meet up there). Stephen
  6. Hi everyone. Sorry I missed the meeting. Jason, Absolutely stunning tank and setup. Andrew, Is there going to be a January meeting? Stephen
  7. Thank you, thank you both. James, Yes, if you could bring your van, that would be super. Let me know if either of you has a preference on beer and pizza. I eat pizza, but don't drink beer, so let me know what you want and I'll have it iced down and waiting I'll send an update a little later when I have a better idea of what the logistics will be, and will try to get this planned out for Sunday. Again, thank you both. Stephen
  8. I'm looking for help moving a tank and equipment from Round Rock (off of Red Bud) to my house in NW Austin. Not sure yet whether this will be done Saturday or Sunday (the day will really depend on what I can pull together in the way of help). I will provide beer and pizza at my end. If you had time, the extra hands would be helpful. I know I'm trying to pull this off at the last minute, so I completely understand if you have other plans. Please let me kn ow if you could help either day. Stephen
  9. OK, makes sense. Looks like another trip to Home Despot. Stephen
  10. Cool, thanks. So you would recommend that as opposed to changing the number of hours per day I run them at? Stephen
  11. Are you talking about just window screens (the things that keep the mosquitoes out)? Stephen
  12. No Harlequin Shrimp. I wanted to get some of these until I realized they were starfish eaters. In the tank, I have a cleaner shrimp, 2 Goby's, 2 Angels, 1 Tang, 1 Blenny, 1 Cleaner Wrasse, and 1 Pink Fairy Wrasse. Other than that, only the critters (like bristle worms) that live in the LR and corals. Stephen
  13. I have two 250W HQI's I'm thinking about hanging over my corner tank, which would replace the current Geismann single 250W HQI. If I do that, how would I ease the tank up to the increased lighting? Right now, I have the Geismann on for 9 hours a day. Stephen
  14. I've had a Sand Shifting Starfish (actually had two, but the little one has been MIA for awhile and we think he is gone). It appears something is chewing on his legs. My wife swears she saw a bristle worm on him one night (hence her hatred and unchanging view that they are bad), but I'm still not sure. What could be slowly chewing away at the Starfish? Stephen
  15. Super Cool! I can't wait to see it! Stephen
  16. Thanks for the name, James, I'll give him a call. Are you talking about that show on KLRU about the aquarium at Waikiki? If so, yes we saw that. I still plan on using Metal Hilides and fluorescent lights, but what I want to try to do is somehow channel or reflect the morning sun that this window gets down into the top of the tank. Right now, this is all conceptual in my mind, but I have been reading threads on Reef Central on how many people in Australia and here in the states (like Arizona) are using "Sola Tubes" to light their tanks. There is a thread on ARC by Hobogato where he made spider reflectors out of the same material they use for Sola Tubes. BTW, are y'all going to buy the Red Kuda from Sea Monkey? Stephen
  17. Some of you have probably seen the thread in the Diary section on the canopy and stand I had shipped from Florida, and the damage that the shippers did. I should know more tomorrow, but fortunately I insured the shipment, and it looks like I should be getting a settlement from the insurance company soon on it. So...I'm looking for recommendations from anyone for a good woodworker or furniture repairer that might want to take on the job. Because of the size and weight of the stand, the person would have to come by, figure out what they needed in terms of materials, and then make the repairs here. I have exact brand and shade of the stain it would take. The stand was built out of select pine, and I've heard B&M has a good selection, so I can work out the details and cost for the repair if I can find someone. I would appreciate any ones suggestions. I'll post this in the "Want to Buy" section as well. Thanks.

  19. Have PM'd, emailed, and have tried to call you this week. I guess you are out for the holidays. Is the smaller (500g)one still available, and if so, what are the main overall dimensions. Stephen
  20. Merry Christmas James and Jennifer! Lauren, Nora, and Stephen
  21. Gawd. So what's the only other options? try the Vodka dosing or move to the larger tank sooner? BTW, are y'all going to be at the store this afternoon? Might was well get that quote on the larger tank. The custom made stand and canopy should ship from Florida next week. So if I move on the new tank sooner than later, I might was well know what I will be dealing with on the tank. Stephen
  22. made an edit to the first post. I won't be combining the two tanks next week, bust should have said next year... "...this tank will eventually be combined with my other tank into a 180 - 210g tank sometime next year, but since I don't know yet if that would be as early as January or as late as mid summer, I guess I need to start doing something now about the sandbed.
