  1. So do yall run GFO and Carbon reactors on your frag tanks? Dose any no3 or po4?
  2. Agree. But I doubt they will up their "SPS" game much. As it seems through conversations, they prefer LPS and more hardy corals from a business perspective. But that could change.
  3. What tongs do you use? The ones I got dont open up big enough for anything larger than a frag
  4. Looking at this picture, would an Eheim and feeder station work here? The red segment is a 1/2" gap between the tanks rim and my acrylic cover. I would have to be able to mount both those here. Im also unsure if the eheim comes out far enough so the food drops through the netting and not the acrylic cover? Would the feeder ring be an option also, or should I get magnetic one (ppl say corrodes?) I guess I could order both then return if needed, but figd id see if yall could tell.
  5. I initially planned on dropping the contents into a feeding ring above my return. But didn't realize I can't due to my manifold feeding my reactors.
  6. Do you use the small pellets or the wafers? I ask bc I was only leaning wafers since my Blonde Naso seems to ignore the smaller NLS, but loves the 1mm bigger ones.
  7. Thanks for the responses. Im leaning toward eheim and already have NLS pellets. Ill look into that supplement for Anthias. My main concern is that only roughly 75% of my fish will eat pellets. The other's either dont like it (anthias, basslet) while others can't compete for it (gobies). So I want to add something to go along with my NLS. Wondered if a little reef chili is a bad idea?
  8. What say you? What do yall use and what variety of foods do you place in it? I've never used one. But research points to Eheim then Apex AFS if I can find a used one. I was thinking of putting NLS pellets, Hikari algae wafers, and maybe a little freeze dried cyclopeeze or worms then have them all drop into a feeding ring. Will the various sizes really be an issue if I am OK with each feeding having different ratios? Humidity and freeze dried gonna cause mush?
  9. Man. Thats what i get for drinking last night, didnt check ARC!
  10. Haha. Yeah, unfortunately the setosa and Juices meteor shower look to be Vegas favorites for surviving. It's odd but the burnt tips happened within 24 hrs of me replacing 1 cup of GAC that I passively sit in a sump media bag. Normally I replace this every 1.5 months, so this wasnt out of the ordinary although ive read issues anecdotally of this triggering RTN. My guess is that it was a combo of that and already low nutrients. I appreciate the offer to replace them, kinda feel bad so ill still buy more since you're being so nice.. but doing my best now to save what I can now
  11. Will have a more in depth update with pics soon. For now, good news is the Blonde Naso is thriving in my display, as is the rest of my fish stock. Finally got ahold of a Potters Wrasse that's a 4 inch male as well. Coral wise - my alk has been rock stable for a month now without touching my CaRx. Ranges from 7.2-7.4 daily. So i got the alk thing down finally... and so i thought i was good to go and bought a buncha SPS frags from Ty, Juice, and a few others. Bad news is the corals either started paling or getting burnt tips. Ive been battling green cyano uglies which covered the tips daily, compounding hings. I feed alot but cant normally maintain detectable p04. So after talking to some other hobbyists online, decided to shut down my GFO and GAC for a few wks and fed 3ml of Oysterfeast daily to get my redfield ratio somewhat back to normal. And finally. Its worked. The green cyano has not come back for the first time in months. Bad news is 90% of the corals I bought arent looking too good.
  12. Looks like you got a little spare tire there buddy. Too much carbs in the Vietnamese diet!
  13. Yeah. It's been there for at least 3 months. That hot pink one was about 20% the size but cost the same. Though I can say I've never seen it opened as well as the one you got.
  14. I've eyed that goni for months there. Just not confident my tank has sufficient balance and nutrients yet. Looks great. Did they still have that small neon pink with yellow center goni?
  15. Dang. Where'd you get them? I'm also trying to enhance my biodiversity in my 180g and have to dose to keep n03 detectable. We are both going through the uglies for sure
  16. Makes it look so easy haha. I've been using a mini funnel made outta scrap paper. But sometimes when tapping it down, dust flings outward. I'll try tapping more ahead of time, to get them out of those corners.
  17. Another thing I'm hoping you chemistry majors can help with. Q. It's impossible to get 100% of phosphate reagent into the vial, using the Hanna ULR Po4 test. Suppose I get 90% of the reagent in there, how does that impact my result? Surely Hanna assumes ppl can't get it all there, even if I use a paper funnel.
  18. If a cleaner looking sandbed is your goal, I wouldn't rely on nassarius to do much. Frankly, mine sometimes don't even come out when I feed. Lazy bums
  19. Thx. And thx for those frags. All are dping well except for the Bottlebrush acro. Haven't seen any PE yet, looks like burnt tips slowly coming on. But my alk literally has been between 7.34-7.5 since I added them and I have NO3 = 6-8ppm and po3 = 1ppm. Some things you just can't explain...
  20. On galaxy s6 pro mode, what does the 2nd and 3rd icon represent? I know you used to use yours.
  21. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the product. Haven't followed them much since release. But the concept of it tied to a DOS intrigued me before I committed to a CaRx.
  22. There should be a virtual tour app for tanks.... Allow us to rotate 360 degrees around each coral.... when my cursor hovers over an item I get a description and price. Updated snapshots every 24 hrs with the ability to see time lapsed growth.... Wouldn't that be a sick selling tool? Or is that called National Geographic?
