I like that AquaC skimmer.
Just start doing your regular water changes with the filtered water. Within a few weeks you'll have replaced the original water.
Many mandarins only eat live foods. They have a very high mortality rate in aquariums that are not well established due to their lack of pods. I have one that has been doing well for several months in my 90g.
I haven't bothered feeding my mandarin prepared foods since it seems to be fine.

How do the prices of their dry goods compare to the other LFS?
Is there any chance this place will be something close to the ATLs/Vivids of the world? Do they have a lot of room for coral tank expansion?
I'd like to go by sometime...
I was about to mention their tank. It's pretty large, but certainly well under 1k gallons. As you mentioned, it looks like two tanks, not one.
I haven't seen any larger tanks in Austin, yet.
