  1. PS, your signature is working, so it seems that the internet at large is seeing your apex...
  2. I'm just gonna go out on a limb here, but maybe wizard is right. I was under the impression that for a gaming adapter *all* you had to do was provide the l/p for the router, and it just seamlessly connected to the network. Maybe you're overthinking this. Is it possible to reset the gaming adapter and *only* input the wireless network login and pass and see what happens?
  3. I'm an environmental consultant (of which there are apparently a few in ARC). I got my degree in hydrogeology with a minor in computer science. I am the youngest licensed professional geologist in Texas (although I'm pretty sure that title is fading...). My company does soil and groundwater remediation for fortune 5 companies primarily in Texas. My specialization is in hydrogeology, which ties in nicely to reefing. I've got a 2 year old who loves "his" tank and he is learning the names of corals as fast as I can acquire them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I watched the video on the company website and was very very impressed. I've always been interested in the economics of reef aquaculture. I'll have to take him to lunch some time and pick his brain.
  5. Outstanding. Did he move the facility south with him? *edit* read the full post you moran. of COURSE its still in denton.
  6. Yeah, i echo the sentiments of the previous posters. You're probably going to want some warmer spectrum colors to capture the reds/oranges/yellows. Maybe an intermingling of warmer whites (less than 10k) and a mixing in of blue. Jason Jones seems to be the expert LED bro on the board.
  7. The move is scheduled for this coming week, so cross your fingers that underwriting goes through . I'll probably still need a week or two to get things settled and happy after the move. My son asks constantly how the fish are doing at the "fish doctor". I tell him they're doing great and are very happy in a big tank with some friends.
  8. I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times, you are a scholar and a saint. How is the motley crue doing?
  9. I'll just make a euphemism for killing the algae. How about "flipping the donkey". As in, I'm going to need to remove these zoas before i can flip the donkey.
  10. Good points to all. I'll go the peroxide route. The zoa plug is too far gone, IMO, to salvage the plug in-tank. Anyone have advice for fragging single zoas and transplanting?
  11. Diagnosis confirmed, it's cotton candy algae. I think I'm just going to refrag my zoas, and bleach dip the other small corner of rock that currently has it. The affected areas are, in my opinion, too small to be readily cleaned up. I think I'm just gonna have to do it the old fashioned way.
  12. Ok so i did some rubbing, its definitely not slime/cyano. It's fuzzy and resists a good brush with a finger.
  13. Is cyano typically fuzzy? I've always thought of it more as a slime than a fuzz. I'll report back tonight on its wipe-off-ability
  14. Haven't tried wiping yet. I'll do that tonight. What kind of dips are recommended ?
  15. Anyone else have this kind of algae? It has gotten noticeable worse on my zoa frag, but it is contained to the plug. I'm assuming the panacea is to reduce nutrients and photoperiods? Any other silver bullets?
  16. Now if you can just make me a mini apex out of acrylic, we can call it a day.
  17. hadn't thought of that, but i'd feel better having a meter that rules out any other funky electrical effects.
  18. You would be my hero. I just need it for an evening.
  19. Yeah, i need something that will read at least to the tenths, preferably a little lower.
