  1. what kind of butterfy? are you talking about a copperband?
  2. Did you ever get to the bottom Of the ceramico/aluminum issue ?
  3. The light sand will work its way up and blow around. You can use a large diameter hose to siphon out the hose and put it through a filter sock while pumping water from the bucket back to the tank. Of course after you've manually removed as much as is practical.
  4. TOSS THE ROCK! SAY NO TO AIPTASIA
  5. Id say no on mg and yes in 0 phosphate being a problem. I've noticed improvement with heavier feeding (still skimming, still gfo-ing)
  6. Ack ! Sorry to hear man. You or we will collectively figure it out some day.
  7. I think in my case gfo was working better than expected. I tested prior to a heavy feeding and then once a day for two days. It went 2,10,2,0. This is month old gfo at recommended dosage !
  8. The phoenix rises again! Looking good man.
  9. Looks salvageable at worst. Pretty good at best.
  10. Any video evidence of you screaming like a girl? You know, for science?
  11. Sucks to hear man. Another thing to try is to use the aquanotes app instead of the apex app. Much quicker response time. I guess the other option is to use the fusion site on a mobile browser.
  12. You may need to adjust the outlet youre using for your pump. Low power devices should be on outlets 4 and 8, or they may fail in an on state.
  13. Looks really good! Radiums 4 life!
  14. It probably makes more sense to slowly bring the old tank params more in line with what your new tank (by way of new salt) params will be. Of course this may all be moot once you get down to 35 ppt via dilution, just retest and take it from there.
  15. You need to figure out what the deal is with your new salt. Mix up more batches or something, because if it's what you're going to be using, are you going to do this rigamarole every time? My advice would be to check the calibration of your refractometer before you start trying to dilute your freshly made saltwater. Its possible that your refrac is off and maybe the true salinity is like 1.028 or 1.029 which would explain the higher alk.
