      You should be able to take the rock out and let it sit in RO water for 20 minutes.

      Trap baited with fresh (previously frozen) shrimp and scallop did not work :( I wanted to avoid taking rock out because it has a few zoas and tube worms..may just do it though. Thanks.

      I think the zoas will probably be fine if you dip the rock in fresh water.

    I may have misspoke when I said membrane - I just bought an extra filter (the top horizontal part - if that's the membrane) of a 3 part diagonal system. The tds meter can read in and out. Normally in is 175 - I haven't checked it yet, I will and report back.

    Hey there!! Have a quick question regarding a recent TDS reading on my RODI water. Normally it's 0 or 1, but yesterday it was 21. Does this mean I should change the membrane? (I do have a spare ready.) The unit has been live since February. Also, I thought Mark posted something about TDS going up in Texas water due to the draught, but I couldn't find it. Is 21 water still ok to use? Much thanks!! -E

    Thanks all!! I got home and noticed he wasn't actually attached to the rock like I first thought, but a shell underneath the rock - WIN!!! I put him on a large frag plug, hoping he'll attach to that. (He's a wee little clam, the frag plug is almost as big as him.) Will move him to a rock after attachment What looks like brown on him is actually algae on the glass, I have to clean it. Nice Maxima - wow!!

    Picked up this little crocea over the weekend. Had him positioned next to this rock so that he faced upwards (see photo). Now he's somewhat horizontal and has attached to the side of the rock – eep! (Discovered this when I tried to move him in a more vertical position) I didn't realize he would attach horizontally or so quickly. Will he be ok horizontal? If not, it's probably safer to relocate that toadstool coral, but what is the best way to do that? Do I just cut the coral's base and reattach it elsewhere? (I've never fragged anything.) Do you think if I put another rock under the clam, he'd attach to that instead? Thanks for all your help!!

    Incredible!!! Really nice work -- I am always impressed with nice restorations!! Check this site for the decals (it's my job to find things). And this - I remember doing that!!! Now I do it in my chair at the office, a lot.

    Just make sure you change that at least every three days....or watch those Nitrate levels soar +1 I had a Fluval 304 filter running on mine initially because I came from a freshwater background. After learning to trust in the Force, it now sits in my garage. I find HOB filter easier for dealing with the minimal carbon requirements.

      Actually I might - thanks oO, I'm just trying to figure out what did it! I did move it to what I thought was a better place for it, and now it's just dying :( (I moved it back to its old spot)

    So I thought it would be a great idea to put some of the salt creep back in my tank. Unfortunately, though I didn't see it, I think a flake of it must've landed on one of my mushrooms. It has a little burned spot today. What do you do when you notice a bad spot on your coral? Grab a carving knife or just let it be? So bummed about this. Lesson learned, of course. -Elizzy

    I had to look up marine betta! (Initially, I thought somehow those little freshwater guys could get acclimated!) Anyhow, that's such a long time -- you're obviously doing something RIGHT!!

    How about this? I had a big one of these survive coral rx. Its speed scared me, but then I found out it's beneficial.
