  1. When I talked to the guy earlier, I asked him to remove the lid and keep it off, and take a straw and agitate the water's surface hoping to get something in there for him. Poor little guy. How can someone just dump a fish at a place where there is no aquarium?? Seems like a death sentence. I appreciate the advice a lot. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he's still alive. The guy said he would call if he died, so ..... In the back of my mind though, I wonder what this fish did to piss off that lady? Or if he was someone elses fish (ex) and she wanted to be mean, or if he ate someone... who knows. I heard of a lady that got so mad at her husband that she poured bleach into his tank. Poor poor fish.
  2. I have about an hour to go till I pick up a Clownfish that was put in a jar, and dropped off at a restaurant about 30 minutes ago. No idea how long he's been jarred. Is there anything special I need to do to acclimate him once I get him home, that would be different from getting one at a store? Might be a dumb question so I apologize. I just want to make sure that if he was deprived of oxygen for a while, that I don't screw it up. Should I add my water to his, a little at a time? Thank you ARC! I can easily keep him in a breeder box to make sure my two don't hurt him too.
  3. If only the meetings were on Sundays lol. Darn work schedule
  4. I got two clowns one, false perc, one true a few weeks ago. I have what I think is a largish true perc female that was in a tank for about 2 years, and went to the Dome and picked up a small false, (thinking the one I just got was a false too). I let them meet through the transfer containers, and the large one shook like she was having a seizure. After about an hour of acclimation next to each other, she calmed down and I released them. They both claimed a rock/cave and have since stayed together. They killed my firefish as well. Yet, they leave the two convict blennies, and the two PJs alone... Sometimes I see the "female" shake at the smaller one, almost to keep it in place. But never have they actually fought. No sparring, locking mouths, or damage. Just shimmying. Is it possible for a true and false perc to pair? Saltwater is new to me so sorry if this is dumb. Please share any info that could be useful. Thank you so much.

  8. You would be able to jailbrake it, and use it on other networks. I jailbroke mine, just so I didn't have to get a data plan. We get free service working here at ATT, but not free iphone plans. I just can't use the internet where ever I want, just wifi. I love it though.
  9. I <3 my lawnmower blenny. He's so fat.

I fell in love with this one up at RC, and they started to get the other one, and I said wanted this one bc he looked really good and healthy. They had to take all the coral out of the tank, (something new they started) and chase him around. I am in awe of him. He is constantly munching away. On a side note, I didn't know that something so small could have big bright green poo. His competes in size with my Jack Dempsey.

yeah, as long as you have algae he will eat, try feeding him flakes, the last one i had ate all the algae, so i started trying flakes and other things. He got to wear he would just eat the flakes from my fingers. I prefer it that way, i hate to just let food loose in the tank

Haha! it's easy when you have no corals lol. It's just moving rock and trying not to piss off my convicts who kept trying to find a home right as I moved the rock lol.

  11. Just curious, but what side effects would it have on my tank to add a piece of the dead coral without cycling it? Not all at once, but one at a time? I boiled all the dead rock last night and filled a bucket during a WC, then put a HOB on the bucket with chaeto in it. Was just gonna let it run until I knew for sure.
  12. This is exactly what I was going to ask! Cool. I have something to ask too, hope its not hijacking. How long would you need to leave the dead rocks cycling for if you were going to move some live pieces into a new tank to cycle it?
  13. Ok, so I posted an ad on CL basically saying the same thing. A mystery person somehow pulled her information, and now I have her work address, home address, DL #, history of her car... it's amazing the workings of the interweb. Kinda scary. Thanks for all the support guys! It's much appreciated.

  14. Please keep an eye out for a 2009/10 Silver Honday Accord with the plates: NBP-228. She slammed my husband into the wall on Mopac, and drove away.

  18. As far as I can tell, we are back down to 2 firefish. I haven't seen my second one lately, in over a week, so I am thinking it died. I see the bully, and the new one. Oh well.

OMG staffies are the sweetest "Bulls"

  21. To be honest, I was a little nervous after reading up about them. I really want to keep the peaceful atmosphere going in my tank, and from everything I read, I am going to have to graciously decline the hawk. I appreciate it though. oOzarkawater thank you for the heads up. I appreciate the warning. I read a lot of similar stories, and (to me) even look kinda evil lol.
  22. I picked up a 3rd firefish about a week ago from Mama. Everything started fine, but the next day I noticed it hovering in a corner at the top of the tank, with one of my other (smaller) firefish about two inches in front of it hovering and protecting it from the biggest one, sitting dead center in the tank facing them, with his "plumage" fully showing. I fed them, everyone ate (including the newb) so I turned the lights off to let them chill, and after that never saw it again. So I thought the newest one died. Fast forward to today. I saw all three at feeding time this morning, but only the biggest was normal looking. The other two looked like they got their tails handed to them and they looked pretty beat up with some torn fins and tails. I hadn't ever had an issue with the original until I added the third one. I am 100% certain it wasn't the new one, because he has a shorter "antennae" than the other two and is noticeably different from the first two, as her pink stripe is smaller than the other. In the tank are my blennies, crabs, and snail there is no one else to beat them up. I'm thinking that maaaaybe I found a pair, though I can't be positive. I just know that they stay together when I see them out, and far away from the other one. So, I need to get rid of the one I got first. I don't want him to hurt my other two, and I like the new one He eats anything you put in, loves his flake, but also loves bloodworms, minced shrimp, and mysis. Open to trades for another peaceful fish. Just let me know. If he's not gone by this weekend I'll probably just go trade him for something else. Thanks ARC
