1. I went and saw Shane yesterday and he's got a new selection to look at since the sale went so well! I picked up a little firefish for $10. He had at least 10 yellow clown gobies all over the glass in their tank, just looking for someone to take them home. He had a lot of new fish in there, so you should definitely check it out.I drive from far south just to go see, at least every 2 weeks
2. I'm so excited too! I finally get to meet all the awesome people that have been so nice and helpful to us. My hubby asked that I changed our order to the Lettuce Slug, and 2 peps instead of the skunk. He wants them all to match I think lol.
3. If I lived in Ireland, I guess I would be a FW kinda gal. Makes me grateful for where I live, though I do wish some species weren't forbidden here.
4. 1 lettuce slug, and 1 skunk cleaner for me please. edited to ask: Will the peppermint and skunks get along?
5. Wow. Ok that's really good to know. I am going to cut back on the volume I pull out and do more like yours. I guess I am so used to my massive freshwater water changes, that I assumed it was the same for salt. Dang, where did my Saltwater for Dummies go ?? THanks guys.
6. So too much? Maybe thats my problem lol.
7.

What percentage, and how often would you suggest to change the water on a tank that size? No fish, just a shrimp to clean around the frags. Oh, and a little Strombus Snail I call Gary I already do 40% weekly. Is that too little or much?
8. Looking for a small protein skimmer for my 5 gallon. I have never bought one, so I don't know what prices to expect. On a budget, so.... UNLESS.. you know how to fit this onto my tank. It's just to tall for it. That would be enough skimming action then right? (seaclone 100)
9. Awwww. I think its adorable. I like the skunk stripe a lot! Hehe. the person in the cube next to me just asked why I went "awwww!".... Had to explain it was a cute fish pic. Does anyone else get funny reactions to your fishkeeping?
10. Wow they are so pretty! I just adore clowns, and when I see so many more kinds, I just fall in love again.
11. I'm sorry guys, my husband even said, "Thats a tomato dork". The one I want to trade is the one on the left.
12. hmm... then cross them off. Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that. I know this is a dumb question, but is there a specific type that's just always happy go lucky? My two little guys are, but I wasn't sure if it was a normal behavior or just because they are babies.
13. I am looking to trade my Tomato clown for another clown. I have two little ones that are happily dancing around and this guy doesn't like seeing them happy looking to trade for any of the following, Black, Clarkii, Ocellaris, Percula (true or false), saddleback Thank you! Other fish trades also welcome. (must be able to live happy in 40 gallon for at least a year)
14. If I had something to trade, I totally would.
15. Hey its worth a shot. I would say yes if I had a kid It's like a living mobile... kinda
16. I actually found a little brittle star like the first picture!! I was doing the normal thing and staring at my tank. We picked up a few little frags of things (reminder, not good with the names) and when moving stuff around, I saw this tiny little arm, so I stopped and watched and 2 more arms came out. Maybe more will come
17. that would be a nice little set up in the future. I just am wanting some little stars to creep around the tank. I just have algae growing, nothing else. What would be a good star to keep then? I have played with the idea of adding mushrooms and such, but with the cowfish, I'm limited at the moment. Or does anyone know of cowfish-proof corals, or mushrooms etc?
18. I actually just saw my first Harlequins this past weekend. I was staring at them so hard trying to figure out what they were, then they moved, and I was just ecstatic. I know my may hurt them, so they would need their own set up.... hm...
19. Just wanting a few starfish that people consider the pesky kind. Only have live rock in this tank for now, so nothing for it to destroy. Thank you
20. It's a Zoo Med RL-18 Reef Sun 50/50 15 watt. I have pretty much everything the owner ever bought for this, and the equipment is all fairly new. It's been set up for 4 years, and I have every test reading she did in a notebook. The smaller tank also has a 50/50 bulb, though I don't know the brand, but its also a 15 watt.
21. I found a heck of a deal on Craigslist a few days ago, and snagged a 20 gallon full set up for $50. I can't even tell you how many extras came with it. I am just in love with this tank. We had a 5 gallon, that was temporary until we had the time to convert our 20 long into salt. Well, now I don't have to covert anything, and my new little rescue puffer can stay there in his new home lol. So I moved my little clown and my Cow into the 20 with the Tomato that came with the tank, and everyone is doing wonderful and the clowns are playing together. I want to make changes to this tank, as far as scaping it nicely. We just lost all the anemones, and polyps and mushrooms we had in the 5 gallon, due to an emergency trip out of town, so both tanks need some help. In the 20 we have a Cowfish, a clown, and a tomato clown. (and a ton of baby snails with a weird shell.) In the 5 we have a peppermint shrimp, a mini conch snail, and one little purple thing (looks like a purple kenya tree) that survived. My question, what anemone would make the clowns happy? I had a really nice one going before the crash, and I want to make sure everyone gets a good spot to call home.

Hi There!

Hi everyone. Just found this site and am SO happy to have an Austin site to visit. I have had my sw set up for about 3 months now, and am loving it. Having to start over with everything except my fish now. A crab destroyed all my polyps, mushrooms and sponge. He's long gone Also just lost both of my neat anemones after I had to make an emergency out of town visit for family. Left the light on for 2 1/2 days. Anyhow I look forward to exploring this site and meeting new people.
