  1. corals hate me anyways so I will just admire them from a distance, on the other side of peoples tanks lol. I'm no where near ready to breed them, so for now until we finish putting their new home together, they can just eat and dance all they want.
  2. How old do they have to be before they lay? I know one (who i believe is female) is two years old, the other not sure. What age or size do they have to be before they become "mature"? Thanks for all the great replies too.
  3. OK, I should have posted this here first instead of trying to think for myself lol. I can't tell what types of clowns I have. I picked on up as a False perc off CL, and then asked Aquadome for another to match. Well, they are different (to me anyhow)t! What are they? Ignore the maroon. I took these pics when I was trying to get the Maroon. (Long gone btw) These aren't the best pics, so I apologize.
  4. I finally reread my post, and I realized I wasn't really clear.Let me try again lol. I only have 2 clowns total. I got what I thought was a false perc, so right after I picked it up, I went to the dome and asked for another to match her. But when I got them side by side in the car, they looked different. They still will not leave each other more than a few inches, and are acting like they are in love with a piece of real estate (rock). I should have first posted pics of them asking what they were to make sure. I guess I can do that now, and then come back with what I find.
  5. She's gone Got a beautiful fish in her place. <br>
  6. No more tanks for these guys after this one. We are going to be constructing a pond for some of my other monsters , and these guys will join them when its done. I stopped my mother in laws house on the way home with them, since she loves fish too, and when she heard the word "koi" she said, "they aren't from Zilker are they?" I said, "yep, and the all fit in this big 5 gallon bucket!"
  7. Thank you so much for them! We set them up and they are doing great. They ate like champs, and are a beautiful addition to our house. They make my kitchen more zen like.
  8. Thank you. I think so too. I wish I could keep her.
  9. 3+ inch maroon clownfish for sale. $30 You can see pics at: http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/13123-emergency-fish-question/
  10. Well, you guys were ALL right, by lunchtime Saturday, she had managed to take a bite out of my smallest PJ Cardinal (though he got his but kicked by our clowns when we added him so, not sure on him), two chunks out of my smallest perc, and one out of my big perc. I hated seeing my two clowns hiding under the spout of the protein skimmer, so I caught the maroon yesterday and put her in a breeder box, all I had on hand, until she has a new home. I can't find it to take her to a store, after what she's been through, even though she's a b**. Now the two percs are dancing and taunting her through the box lol. "who's the B* now?"
  11. I had that in the back of my mind too. So far so good as of this morning, though lunchtime could bring change. I just didn't want the thing to die. I already discussed getting rid of either the new one, or my other two. When I plopped it in the tank, some of the flake that was in the transfer container got into the tank, and the percs were more impressed that food came with the new fish and proceeded to eat it all. lol
  12. Thank you everyone! I would have picked it up immediately, but I couldn't leave work. Believe me, when we have required overtime.... I was NOT expecting it to be this big. Its roughly 4 inches, FAT, and um..... maroon? lol I guess in my mind I still picture the clownfish as Percs. We showed up at the Canyon Grill Ice House, (the other side of it is a Chinese restaurant ironically) in Dripping Springs and the kid showed me to the fish. I was shocked to see this monster sitting in a large plastic jar on the counter. Very healthy, fat;, and alive. The lady even put some tropical flakes in for it... if he got hungry?? I poured it in the container I had with some water to start the acclimating. ( made a pitstop at the house for a real container and some water). We acclimated it for an hour or so and dropped it in the tank, and it swam down into a rock cave, The other clowns were curious and they didn't bother, just looked, as did the monster. Here are some pics, sorry for the poor quality, my camera sucks. I have to say I'm a little pleased
  13. When I talked to the guy earlier, I asked him to remove the lid and keep it off, and take a straw and agitate the water's surface hoping to get something in there for him. Poor little guy. How can someone just dump a fish at a place where there is no aquarium?? Seems like a death sentence. I appreciate the advice a lot. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he's still alive. The guy said he would call if he died, so ..... In the back of my mind though, I wonder what this fish did to piss off that lady? Or if he was someone elses fish (ex) and she wanted to be mean, or if he ate someone... who knows. I heard of a lady that got so mad at her husband that she poured bleach into his tank. Poor poor fish.
  14. I have about an hour to go till I pick up a Clownfish that was put in a jar, and dropped off at a restaurant about 30 minutes ago. No idea how long he's been jarred. Is there anything special I need to do to acclimate him once I get him home, that would be different from getting one at a store? Might be a dumb question so I apologize. I just want to make sure that if he was deprived of oxygen for a while, that I don't screw it up. Should I add my water to his, a little at a time? Thank you ARC! I can easily keep him in a breeder box to make sure my two don't hurt him too.
  15. If only the meetings were on Sundays lol. Darn work schedule
  16. I got two clowns one, false perc, one true a few weeks ago. I have what I think is a largish true perc female that was in a tank for about 2 years, and went to the Dome and picked up a small false, (thinking the one I just got was a false too). I let them meet through the transfer containers, and the large one shook like she was having a seizure. After about an hour of acclimation next to each other, she calmed down and I released them. They both claimed a rock/cave and have since stayed together. They killed my firefish as well. Yet, they leave the two convict blennies, and the two PJs alone... Sometimes I see the "female" shake at the smaller one, almost to keep it in place. But never have they actually fought. No sparring, locking mouths, or damage. Just shimmying. Is it possible for a true and false perc to pair? Saltwater is new to me so sorry if this is dumb. Please share any info that could be useful. Thank you so much.
  17. So glad to be back from West Texas. All fishies fine and dandy, had a friend come check on them while we were gone :)

Thank you for all the kind words everyone.

  20. You would be able to jailbrake it, and use it on other networks. I jailbroke mine, just so I didn't have to get a data plan. We get free service working here at ATT, but not free iphone plans. I just can't use the internet where ever I want, just wifi. I love it though.
  21. I <3 my lawnmower blenny. He's so fat.

I fell in love with this one up at RC, and they started to get the other one, and I said wanted this one bc he looked really good and healthy. They had to take all the coral out of the tank, (something new they started) and chase him around. I am in awe of him. He is constantly munching away. On a side note, I didn't know that something so small could have big bright green poo. His competes in size with my Jack Dempsey.

yeah, as long as you have algae he will eat, try feeding him flakes, the last one i had ate all the algae, so i started trying flakes and other things. He got to wear he would just eat the flakes from my fingers. I prefer it that way, i hate to just let food loose in the tank
