I went the cheep route back in California when I got mine at sports chalet and was sorry about it after I took a refreasher corse at a real scuba shop years latter. What they don't tell you might kill you lol

So go and talk to the shops before commiting and also try and work in a "rebate" of some of the class cost on gear you buy from the. Ya scuba shops cost more than online prices but when you need something fixed for a trip you are going on the next day its nice to have a local shop that knows you.

So I am fed up with northland cable and I am going to switch to Direct Tv or Dish Network but how they heck do you decide witch is better.

I am not a sports fan I have 2 HD tv's one is 3d but its only 3d because it was cheaper than the 2d model lol but I have it so would like to get programing for it

I live alone so there is no fighting over whats on and what needs to be recorded <did I ever tell you TiVo is better than sliced bread> Main non main stream channels that are must haves are

SyFi and AMC I know at one point dish dropped amc but it looks like its back in there lineup at least online.

I think I am leaning to dish with there 120 package at $25 a month for the first few months.

Any one have any info on who's equipment is better ?

any other things to consider ?

Like are the installers chicken and will not install the stuff under my aquarium like northand refused to do. I mean come on its a big empty space whos afraid of electronics under 110 gal of salt water lol. BTW my sump is in the garage through the wall so there really is nothing under the tank but a ton of electronic eq.

I ended up going to a sleep experts shop its new to the Austin area to try there "sleep number bed" I guess they actualy made it first anyways they have not shipped any to the Austin area yet so while I was there I tried out all there mattresses and found one I really liked it was a spring foam hybrid called xs3 imattress and when I asked about a California King he said they had one that the box springs were damaged in shipping so the customer refused the shippment. So they had to sell it as a return with a deep discount because there were no box springs. I was cool with that I have a platform bed anyways so no need for the springs. Duno if I had smoke blown up my behind but it was the mattress I liked and got it for 50% off the 50% off year end sale price lol.

So instead of 5500 for the sleep number I liked I got a mattress with all the goodies pillows mattress protector ect for just over 700 bucks and the good nights of sleep I have gotten over the last week are priceless lol.

Well I have an awesome reef tank already

I know someone that runs a Radison that had 1200 of them but hotels get the bottom of the line "custom" made for them. So I don't know if hotel would be a good example of there high end beds. Its like the mattress I have now a cheep no name $299 king size to compare that with a tempropedic <SP> pillow top super mattress.

I also tried out a few regular mattresses and found a beauty rest that was comfortable but it did not have all the cool buttons to push and the thought of having a friend stay over and let all the air out of there side is just to strong of a pull

well went for a test ride today lol I should have stayed away. Of coarse I fell in love with the I10 and at 5500 bucks for a bed its insane but I am actually considering it lol. I guess with 15 years of use that's only like a buck a day right come on you know you can convince me to get it.

I had not considered it having 2 chambers. I currently sleep in the middle of my king sized bed so thats not sounding too good lol. If you set both sides at the same number hows the middle ?

I guess the alternative would be to hook up and get married so I would then have to buy a couch and not worry about the middle of the bed.

I sleep on an airmatress when I go back to California for 2-3 weeks at a time and its not bad and that dont have the foam topper . But come on they have to have more support than the 100 air matress.

Its time for a new mattress and am looking for help in how you like your sleep number bed ?

How long have you had it ?

How long did it take to like it ? My last mattress sucked like a turbo snail for several months till my back got used to it lol.

do you still adjust it ? or once you set it you forget it .

I also have an Ikea cheep memory foam mattress in a spare room that I have not given much of a shot I did not like it but only slept on it for 2-3 nights.

well I have a 200 is gal system with the sump in the garage in an older house. The garage is not insulated. I would not even consider trying to use evaporation as cooling on it. Its a small enclosed room that I bet hits 110-120 when the temps get up there. I currently use a 1/2 hp cooler and it cycles alot to keep the tank at 80 deg.

Another thing to consider is with the lights on in the sump at night to run a reverse lighting schedual will draw billions of bugs so a cover or bug netting is your friend unless you want to add alot of proten for your critters lol.

I also leave the window,door open 24/7 and the garage door up 2-3" when I am awan and 12" when I am home.

But I will say that moving my 1/4 hp chiller from my living room to the 1/2 hp outside my living room stays ALOT cooler so its a win win my house is cooler I dont have to hear the chiller and pumps or the water draining into the sump.

from my reading skimmers are very inefficent and unless you are running multiple forms of nutrient removal I doubt you can over skim.

I also think most soft stuff gets alot of there food from lighting

I was wondering about the 4 g because the remote area I live in cable goes down regularly and I cant live with out the net lol at about 10 min in with no tv and no inter net I start to shake

and I currently use pdanet to conect my computer to the droid for internet service.

ya I would change but at$t dont offer unlimeted data anymore lol and ver Is the only company I seem to get any service with at my house if you look at the coverage maps across the street from me is not covered lol

and if there is no 4g service is it worth getting a 4g phone or should I just stay with a cheeper 3g

I have a grandfathered account with verizon and they no longer let you keep unlimmeted data if you get a "new for 2" phone.

The only way at least that I have found is to buy a phone without a new 2 year contract and from verizon or big box store its 800 bucks . So I am thinking of getting one off ebay and wondered what the down side to that is. I have never purchased a used or new cell from anyone other than getting one cheep with a new contract.

The thing is with internet forums people only report when they have problems not when things are working fine. And I would bet there are 10 to 1 mags vs eheims out there so sure you will see more reports of problems with them,

but its like anything ask 10 experts and you will get at least one that says mag is best one that says mag is worst one that says ehiems are best and one that says they are worst err welll ok you would probly have a problem finding one to say ehiems suck other than cost.

if you ask me the big name pumps are all bullet proof now adays and yes people are gona say but I had blah blah blah and it failed all companys of mass produced stuff have failures.

I can see some of them starving but enough food and mico alge was in there that I cant see them all croaking. It was a year to 18 months ago they were added.

I had a aptasia problem so added peperments to my rocks in my sump where there are no other critters that would be bigger than the shrimp. Well in order to clean the sump up, I do this 1 or 2 times a year. I pulled all the rock and plants to clean the crap out and of the 12 shrimp I had in there I found none I did not even find any remains lol. I think my tank has shrimpocide in it.

I have other inverts that are fine or I would think there is some copper sorce in there. I am at a total loss.

now at RCA and I was wrong its bugger than a baseball lol when I tried to put it in a tupper ware bowl for transport it did not fit . might even be a tad bigger than a softball cut in half

I have used rca, reefs2go, and one other online place I cant recall I was not happy with them so I banished them from memory lol or mabey its CRS. If they are just hidden one day I will be able to host a party with home grown shrimp for the barbie.

Ya the only thing that makes me think it might be the star is he is in the same rock they all seem to go to and its not a small tank so duno why they all like that spot other than it has multiple caves in it

this is a REALLY REALLY old shot but the only one I could find probly 2 years old. the rock is about 18 in long

I do have alot of bristle worms but with the shrimp active at night I would think they would avoid the worms

Well the last batch was 10 peperments and they all seem to end up in my center pc rock its full of crannys. And afer a week or so I could find 6 and then slowly it was 3 then non lol. The brittle star lives in the same rock

His arms stick out of it like some deep sea monster in the morning when I look with a flash light. Thats why I suspect him but most things say they eat dead stuff and crud.

The shrimp would come out when I feed the tank so I am fairly sure they are all gone.

Ok I blamed my large mystery wrass he was removed I added more pepermint shrimp and a cleaner they all disapeared in a few days. My file fish was the next one banished to the sump becuase I saw him go after them .

I am now down to a cheveron tang a shole tang <both added after the shrimp started to disapear so its not them> a sand sifting gobie a copperband, a brittle star tons of small blue leg vrabs and var snails

SO WHATS eating my shrimp lol I have never seen any other large crabs ect
