  4. I have a colony of German blue digi(4x3") mounted to a 5" piece of live rock. That same piece of live rock has a small colony of birdsnest(3x3") on it. Selling it for $20. I also have a huge colony of sunset monti that I want to frag. It will be 2x2" frags cut upon request for $20. There is also a 1.5" frag of neon green horn coral for only $10. All of the corals are super healthy with great coloration. I had the June meeting at my house yesterday, so if you need confirmation ask any member who attended. I will text pics upon request or check older post for some photos. PM or call 512-909-4644. Thanks Lamont.
  5. Dave and Robin, you are welcome. I would like to thank you for the new card. I enjoyed everyone who came. I hope everyone had fun. Jeff, thank you for the zoas. What kind were they?
  6. Hey Derek, if your concerned about your softies then just acclimate them slowly. I keep some softies at the top of my tank, but mainly SPS. When I switched over to MH's I lost my torch coral and three heads of duncans. That was because i had them epoxied to the top of my tank when I was using PC's. I was foolish for not dropping them down at first. Now I have no problem with any coral. I have also been getting most of my corals from people that have 2 or 3 400w MH fixtures.(Don duncan, Mike.M Danny etc..)
  7. Go ahead and make that jump. You won't regret it.

  9. I used to have a 2x96w power compact fixture over my 40g breeder tank. I did not have any problems keeping any type of coral as long as i placed them accordingly in the tank. I switched my lighting over to Metal halides and to a 75g tank and things have taken off. I have only been using Metal halides for about a month and a half and my corals color has started to amaze me. I posted a few pics purple digi and hollywood stunner chalice to show the changes. Feel free to post any before and after pics of your corals that have started to grow or color up dramatically.(count the eyes on the chalice)
  10. PMed. Just need a yes or no!
  11. This is a good question Matt.... I too have wondered the difference It varies from tank to tank. It also depends on lighting and water parameters. I bought a green bubble tip from an ARC member and at his house the tentacles look like small balloons. He was also using T-5's. I put it in my tank and the tentacles became long. I use metal halides and my current was stronger than the other tank. I have been to quite a few ARC members houses and some of there rose BTA's are baloonish and othes aren't. Even though they may have come from the same family of anemones. Whoever has a rose BTA with the balloon tips may have to chime in and let us know how there setup is.

  14. I'll take the Tyree sunset monti $25 and the purple digi. PM Sent
  15. Its a very nice RBTA. His pair of clowns protected it well.(especially from other clowns)Lol
  16. Gabe, I dont think its a chalice because its fleshy not hard or stony. I can see it moving with the current sometimes. It looks like a green eyed cup coral or cyphastrea.
  17. The Coral is in the middle of the fist picture. Its growing in a crease of the rock. Its Purple with green mouths.
  18. Anyone have any suggestions?
  19. I was messing around with the camera trying to see which adjustments work the best for tank photos . So here are a few point and shoot pics.
  20. I have a few things in my tank that I have not purchased. I really dont know where they came from. For some reason I have a snail factory. I have only bought Turban, cerith, one margarita, bumble bee and nassarius snails for my tank. My margarita died in my tank swap but now i have tons of baby margaritas as well as lots of stomatellas. Now I see another type, but dont know what kind it is or if its safe or not. I have never seen this type of shell or behavior. Its just sitting under a frag of monti cap and doesnt move at all. I dont know if its eating it or what! I also have a fleshy purple coral with green eyes growing on my rock. I dont have anything in my tank that resembles it. So if you guys and gals will take a look and let me know if you recognize any of them that would be great. Thanks in advance.
  21. Did you give him up because of the the sand bed extinction.
