  1. What was the progression of the death of the corals? Did the tissue recede, melt, disintegrate, or bleach?
  2. That is a beautiful anemone. If I have luck with my small green bubble tip anemone then I may want one of these.
  3. LPS typically likes dirty water. What do they look like when they die? Do they have a brown slime on them or are they bleaching out?
  4. Wow, what a catch. $40 bucks is a great deal. How long did it take it to grow back?
  5. Wow, beautiful! That rose anemone is amazing.
  6. As a tang enthusiast I have found that they do eventually strike a balance. If they hated each other one of them would be dead already.
  7. I would not believe you. Mostly on tone of the response. Haha. That and blue green chromis are not known to eat anything on rocks. They only feed on stuff in the water column so they would just be useful in eating suspended larvae.

Looks like a black sea hare.

    clown

Yep, I was just about to say that it'd be best to get a smaller specimen than the one you have. I had to do that with a clown pair in the past. It is kind of a risk but the younger the new fish is the better because if the new one is female and the original is already turning female then there is no going back. You have two females then.
  10. The smaller the grains, the greater oxygen depletion as the sand bed depth increases. The large the grain the higher oxygen penetration depth.
  11. Looks great. Do you have any fish in there?
  12. That thing looks insane! I used to see similar critters in swimming pools. I called them "water bugs".
  13. I have a cleaner wrasse that tends to go in between rocks to eat stuff. I think he is eating the smaller larvae but the bigger ones are too big for him to eat. I keep siphoning off the big ones when I do water changes. Thankfully they are not at plague proportions. They are just hanging out on my frogspawn colonies.
  14. I have a mystery wrasse in there. I have been considering getting a leopard wrasse but have been holding off. I have heard that planaria can release a toxin when they die and that if they all die at once it can tank the tank.
  15. I have quite a bit of planaria in my tank. They do not seem to be causing any problems but they are ugly as all get out. Is there something I can add to my tank to either kill them or eat them?
  16. Wow, that is pretty crazy. I did not think that a coral beauty would be that aggressive. Then again, I have seen mine go after my 7 or 8 inch orange shoulder tang. I have seen my coral beauty get his butt kicked though when he bit off more than he could chew.
  17. I have a coral beauty that tends to be a bit aggressive. I just made sure that all my new additions were bigger than him.
  18. I totally did a double take the first time I saw it called that in "Clownfishes". mouthanus ha ha ha
  19. Yeah, it is fine. It is just expelling the waste from eating. You'll probably see some brown slime coming out of the mouthanus.
  20. Definitely a beautiful fish. The sailfin group of tangs is great. I love them.

Beautiful anemone! Where'd you get it?
  22. How long have you had the nem?
  23. Did you leave the television on next to the tank? Maybe there was a depressing show on and he just couldn't stand to live anymore.
  24. Thanks. That is what I was thinking as well.
  25. Beautiful bubble tip anemone. I am meaning bubble corals though, the LPS. I edited the poll to include, "Yes, but only if they are the same type".
