  1. Thanks Ric. I will do it over a couple of days. I am just hoping that my corals will not suffer any permanent damage.
  2. So, I discovered tonight that I did not calibrate my refractometer properly so essentially my salinity has been getting lower with each water change. I did two larger water changes this week which took my salinity down to about 1.021. My corals are not very happy right now. My fish are fine though. I have been attempting to raise the salinity by dissolving salt in RO/DI water. Is this the best way to do it? I haven't been trying to make it jump to 1.025, just trying to get it nudged in the right direction, maybe raise it up to 1.025 over the course of a few hours.
  3. I think it was my fault. I've been making my own saltwater and I didn't calibrate my refractometer properly. My salinity has been low... like 1.021ish.
  4. Mama, I think we might need to come up with some sort of "otha motha" contraceptive. You're everyone's mom!
  5. I don't know. Sixline Wrasses sound very "nice" but they will cut six lines in your face if they get the chance.
  6. Starckii Damsels are pretty docile. Mine doesn't cause any ruckus.
  7. I used to feed dead damsels to my anemones. I recently lost most of my anemones though.
  8. Even in death they can cause harm. Though if you get them out while they are still "warm" they make for good eats or good anemone food.
  9. Lamarck's Angel Marine Betta
  10. Maybe we need a puffer hypnotist. One who can hypnotize the puffers not to eat corals.

    Purple Tang

Oh man, very tempting. Probably wouldn't get along with my sailfin tang though.
  12. You're welcome. I don't think I was. I think I was there a week or so ago.
  13. I went to Kona Grill for the first time last Friday. The first thing I saw was a big Blue Regal Tang. It was awesome. One of the things I noticed about their simulated reef tank (I saw simulated because they have fake coral) is that they have fish in there that are not reef safe. I will give them credit for having one of my favorite fish, a Dragon Wrasse. What is everyone's opinion of fake coral?
  14. It'll turn up. I have to check my overflow for my hawkfish and sixline wrasse when I move things around. Wouldn't hurt to look back there.
  15. Pretty much all of my stuff will eat krill if it is cut small enough to fit in their mouth.
  16. I kept a bluespot puffer in a reef tank successfully. My clowns bullied him so I got rid of him. Wen I got a larger tank I tried to add various dwarf puffers unsuccessfully. They were all fine until the got hungry. I think if the tank is fed two times a day it'd be fine, but beware the hungry puffer.
  17. Babies love to swim. I think it could be baby's first swimming pool.
  18. It is definitely tricky. I found that a lot of it has to do with how your rocks are situated. Josh has a good point. If you cross the streams you will get some really good random flow.
  19. EVIL TEMPTOR!!! EVIL! I'll think about it.
  20. All are holding. I'll PM you Cody if any are still free afterwards.
  21. I still have some green rhodactis mushrooms in my sump. If anyone wants a couple let me know. A few of them have already affixed themselves to rubble rock so some come with natural plugs this time.
  22. I feed my Duncans mysid. I also feed my mushrooms mysid as well. My other corals are mostly filter feeders and photosynthetic. They tend to eat the little pieces of mysid that my fish expel through their gill plates while eating.
  23. Nice specimens! If I had room I'd be all over those zoas.

That's a super stretchy anemone! The tank looks great.
