Nice! Those colors are just stunning.
  2. Yes, very good time. It was nice seeing everyone.
  3. You still haven't caught him!? I think it is time to put Bart in your tank for a swim. He'll catch it.
  4. I think the term is "propaganda". Either way, I think that garlic works, at the very least as a feeding attractant.

Wow, those are some super nice pieces. I really wish I had my new tank already so that I could put those in there.
  6. True, some of them get pretty nasty looking as adults. Some angels are like that as well, the French angel for example. I think I will stick to clowns, tangs, and angels. Thanks Brooks.
  7. I have been starting to think about what types of fish I will put in my 185 when I get it in a few months. It will be a reef environment. Today while I decided to go for a drive and ended up at AquaDome. They had a really awesome blue spot grouper. I was wondering if groupers can be kept in reef tanks. I know that they will eat small shrimp, but would larger shrimp like cleaner shrimp be okay?
  8. Definitely a good idea to get a few. I have three in my tank to keep the parasite count down to lessen the stress on the fish. I am glad that the spots are almost gone. They may come and go as you make changes in your tank. I have noticed that fish with smaller scales tend to show the spots easier than fish with larger scales. I don't know if it is just a perspective thing or if there is just less places for the parasites to hide. Either way, he should be fine.
  9. What kind of lighting do you have and how high are zoas in the tank? If you have metal halides and the zoas are up top, it could be burning them a bit.
  10. A yellow watchmen goby would be cool. A tail spot blenny would be cool too.

    Clown

Hehe I'd love to take him but my tank is full right now. I'm upgrading in a few months.

    Clown

They are beautiful clowns. I love the clowns that don't look like freaking Nemo. Haha.
  13. As long as they are not stressed they will be fine.
  14. Good picture. Yeah, he will be fine. It is normal for fish to get a little spotty after being introduced into a tank. Once they are acclimated fully the spots diminish. When the fish gets stress the spots come back. Essentially, the parasites are always there, they just manifest visually during a certain cycle of their life. It has been my experience that the best method for keeping a fish healthy is to make sure that the diet is giving them all that is needed. If they are getting all that they need then their immune systems can keep the ich at bay, just like in the wild.
  15. I'd just leave him be. Those are really hardy fish it will most likely recover on its own. It is stressed right now from being new. The ich will go away once it gets established.

Awesome duncans! I first thought it was a bubble tip anemone!

    Clown

Fire Clown I think. They are really pretty. Similar to Tomatoes in temperment.
  18. That sucks. Sorry to hear that.
  19. Saddlebacks are so cute. I have one myself.
  20. I'm pretty sure that is a tomato clown. Cinnamons have almost yellow tails.
  21. River City Aquatics has good prices on corals. AquaTek is a little more expensive, but they have a "bargain bin" coral tank that usually has some good finds in it. Alternatively you could check with members. I know that I am always up for passing around frags. I can probably hook you up with some mushrooms, a small kenya tree frag, and some pom pom xenia. The pom pom xenia may be a month or two, it is still growing back from my last fragging round with it.

    what is this?

Could be diatoms. Is there a lot of flow going between the polyps or is it in a stagnant area? PS: Awesome clove polyps. I love those things.
  23. Definitely. I home inspector should be able to tell you if it can support the tank or not.
