The Xenia in my tank has taken over part of a piece of LR in my system and I want to remove them. Has anyone had any luck removing Xenia from your LR? Any tips you can provide?
TIA
Charles

Looks like it would make a nice grow out tank. It's too low to the ground to be a display tank, unless you want to go and modify that custom stand. Pretty cool though.

Ok...tell me about the skimmer.
Found this.

Don't think Chocolate Chip Stars are reef safe, but dapettit has a harlequin that likes to eat them.

Did you have corals in your tank? If yes, how were they affected?

Mark didn't you already have a dendro that you got rid of?

I have been waiting for the same pump, count me in.

The leather from the pic in your second post looks like a Toadstool Leather.

I think the real key will be if you can see a mouth in the center. If there isn't a mouth then perhaps you DO have a leather.

He meant that fishypets probably has a spambot type virus that is redirecting his requests to the xxx site. There was nothing wrong with the links you posted.

Just a trick of the perspective.

Nahh just have an external overflow on the side facing the wall with your plumbing etc. in the fish room on the other side.

Am I to understand that some of these aquariums are suspended from the ceiling and are viewed looking upwards!?
I don't think you view them looking upwards, you view them in the normal fashion. They just don't have a stand/cabinet underneath them.

Awesome job so far!

If you get a lot of sun on your porch I would recommend Lantana. It gets nice flowers all summer and fall. You chop it down to 6" in the winter and it comes back again in the spring. Also it's a texas native plant.

Looks like it could be Aiptasia. At first I thought it was just a bristle worm till I viewed it full size. There is definately a bristle worm in the foreground of the first photo though.

I have decided to move in a slightly different direction with my media rack in my 28g Nano Cube, so I have a few items to sell off.
1 - 45gram Activated Carbon Insert - $2
3 - 6.5oz Chemi-pure Elite - $5/each
2 - JBJ Replacement Activated Carbon - $2/each
1 - JBJ Ocean Pulse - DUO Wavemaker (New never used) - $30

The problem with the Tune 9002 is that you have to saw off the mounting magnet, and then cut the trim on the tank so it can fit in the center compartment. That would mean I loose my refugium.
The Remora is good from the reviews I have read (though a little loud). I could fit a Maxi Jet 1200 in the far left compartment, though I have read that these skimmer to best with a Mag 3.
I prefer to go with a skimmer that doesn't require me to put the pump in the tank at all, but that really limits me. It's all on where do I want to compromise.

I think euro reef has a hob for a nano, and also deltec has one that I would also check into.
Euro-reef has one that fits in the center chamber with some modding, but that means I loose my refugium space, which I enjoy having. I looked at the Deltec but those are a lot more money.

Thanks for all the great input. I think I have found a better solution for my tank that doesn't require me to have the pump in my tank (which is a PITA).
Have been reading good reviews on this skimmer.

I worry about using kalk paste in my tank since it's only 28g tank...also I need to grow some nails.
