    First Sump Design

    From the album: Sump Design

Sump is based on a 20gallon (Long) tank and has 3 compartments. Compartment 1: Has bubble tower in the corner for water coming from the tank. This area is for an Algae Turf Scrubber. Compartment 2: Return section Pump will send water back to display and to the Refugium Section Compartment 3: Has bubble tower in the corner for water coming from the return section. Refugium area...mostly LR/Rubble for Pod growth. Has a 3 probe hanger on wall.

  6. The leather from the pic in your second post looks like a Toadstool Leather.
  7. I think the real key will be if you can see a mouth in the center. If there isn't a mouth then perhaps you DO have a leather.

  11. Thanks for the feedback.
  12. So I accidentally let a small package of Rod's Fish Food out on the counter over night. It was sealed and therefore didn't exposed to the air but it was defrosted. I immediately put it in the freezer where it has solidified once again. Would it be safe to use it still??
  13. Luckily you only need to lift the tank around 1" to slide these under.
  14. If the weight of your system is less than 3200lbs you can just put some Magic Sliders underneath it. You could also drain some of your water to make it easier to move. They sell these all over the place (Target, Home Depot, etc.).
  15. You will shoot your eye out!!!
  16. I think the old MP10 is in the $190 range but the new Ecotech ones cost more.
  17. I think they go for ~$250
  18. Are you having glasscages truck it directly to you or are you picking it up from one of their drop off points?
  19. I'm not sure it will need such a large water change. I would check the parameters when you get back and decide then. Keep in mind you're taking your bio load basically to 0 so about the only chemical that will build up while you are away is perhaps a little Nitrate due to an decay of detritus in the tank. Also I would check your salinity just to make sure it's still good, but I imagine the rest should be fine.
  20. You won't have to worry about lvls since the only thing that will be living in your tank while you are away is bacteria and micro fauna. When you get back you will probably want to do a large water change, but you won't have to cycle your tank again or anything like that.
  21. I would leave the tank running with filtration and no cleanup crew or anything in the tank. Just leave the lights off and algae shouldn't be a problem (unless it is by a window). You may want to have someone add top off water to it once in a while though.
  22. Well you can buy live clams & mussels from the grocery, but those come from cold water environments usually so I don't know how they would fare in a reef tank.
  23. Not to hijack this thread but any recommendations for cleaning the glass along the sand line in bow front aquarium?
  24. Mike, Where are you located? Charles
