Not sure if you've done this yet - but please please fill the tank with fresh water and make sure there are no leaks. This can be done immediately and should most definitely be done before you add all the wonderful saltwater creatures. Let the water sit in the tank for 24 hours and check the seams to make sure there are no leaks. It would be a huge bummer to find all your money and hard work down the drain - or rather - on your floor.

zipties (the clear ones) and they eventually get covered in coraline - not the best suggestion, but might work on pieces where you could hide the zipties in the back.

I had a sand shifting star in my 29 biocube for about 6 months. It eventually just disintegrated - literally. I'm sure I didn't have enough of a pod population to keep it alive. I've actually been trying to stay away from starfish for that very reason - I'd rather have a live sand bed than an empty one

Setting up the chiller on my seahorse tank - I'm trying to hold off on purchasing the seahorses until I return from xmas vacation but . . .its . . so. .. tempting .. .

Never thought about using a soda bottle to keep fish separated. That's a cool idea.

There's a top on it and the evaporation isn't too bad (maybe top off once/wk). But that's a good reminder for me to make sure it's full to the top before I leave tomorrow.

The 29 is my anenome and clown fish tank. I'm a little nervous the clown fish would pick on the sexy shrimp? I'm thinking they'd be okay as well, just looking for confirmation I guess .

Hi Everyone, I have a 2 gallon pico set up at work with some corals and sexy shrimp. The light is on an automatic timer and I will be at work tomorrow to feed everything. The question is, Should I bring the sexy shrimp home for the Thanksgiving break? The tank will be unattended for 5 days at work. If I bring them home, they will go into my 29 gallon biocube. Thoughts?

Got him today!!!!!! It took the trap being in the tank for a few days and not feeding the tank when he finally went all the way in. It was fantastic

Yeah, you may have to wait and not feed for a day or so, if you do I would recommend leaving the trap in the tank so they get used to it being there with no food.... Also when I made mine I made the entrance a little bigger by cutting the hard part of the plastic neck off and give him a little room to get in. Done and Done. Now the trap is just sitting there making my tank look ugly for the next day or so . . . This is a no gun house lol Ha! He'd just scurry away murmuring about how stupid I am. Smart little devil

ok - patience is not my virtue . So far he checked it out - but i think he concluded it's a trap cause he's back to hanging out under the rock far away from the bait. On the other hand, my snails and pepps are trying to get in . .. . I'll give it a bit longer (unfortunately, I already fed the tank this morning so probably not that hungry).
