Without seeing a pic, nothing is ever for sure, but Cerith's do reproduce. They usually stay in sand much of time and come out on rocks to graze (same thing they do in wild). They do reproduce quite easily in aquariums. If they are the dreaded pyramid snails they drill a hole in the shell (like most mollusks that prey on other mollusks) and they are basically only eliminated by not having clams for a long time in the tank. The wrasses that do eat them, forage during day and these guys are more active at night.

Who else is going to come tomorrow? Want to make sure we have enough chili!!! Promise, that alone will be worth it. I will have a couple of nano sized live rock to give away as well so I can convert the old Aquapod to freshwater.
Lee
I want a small piece. ARe you coming to the July meeting at my house? If so, you can bring with you, if not, I will be needing to get some water at River City soon and will work out a way to pick up.

I will be preparing some killer chili. Feel free to bring any other snacks you would like. I will provide Chili, cheese, and Frito's. Bring Your Own Beer or Beverage. I will have few soft drinks available.
There will be a powerpoint presentation on the key molluscs in our aquarium.

I will be using a American Marine PinPoint PH Controller. Got it used off RC from believe it or not from a guy in Austin.
If you want to come over and see the reactor in action let me know.

I was just wondering why I hadn't seen you on the board lately.
So sorry to hear, maybe sell the livestock parting out and you will get some cash and can keep the hardware?

All depends upon what you plan to use for circulation? Want a wavebox, a center overflow will be great. I have a wavebox and dual overflows on each back corner and works fine though.
If you go closed loop, then you need holes for drain and return for closed loop. I would DEFINITELY put a hole in the back for instant water changes!!! If you are going custom think of exactly what you want BEFORE you order the tank.
If you want holes drilled in bottom, best to go with starboard or PVC bottom. Just ask guys on board about seeing their tank and figure out what you want.

I have a dual overflow brick 225 gallon tank. I will NEVER have a center brace again, it is so nice not having to work around a brace or have something to block lighting. Trust me, go without a center brace.

Dude, I live so close, but I'm a pastor and a little busy right then. I would love to help just to see the tank!! Sorry man, please post if you move to another day!

Man, I did that one time and it is SUCH a long season. It was fun for a bit, but tracking pitchers!! Man though, I had Randy Johnson for one of my starters that year!! Just don't have the time, but it is a lot of fun!!

Not sure as I have never really kept any fairy wrasses but would highly recommend asking on Reef Central's forum "Reef Fishes" there are numerous fairy wrasse experts that post there frequently.

Man, 18" is awful narrow on a tank that long, really consider going wider!!! You would be better going off wider and shorter. 31" tall will be harder to light as well. 30" wide would be great!! Gives you space for large rock and plenty of room for corals to grow.

The one at Aquatek seemed quite healthy. If you are interested, you want to make sure you see it eat at the store. I didn't look a long time, but it did seem to be in good shape.

You also mentioned having another tank in the room which also adds to humidity and decreases evaporation which increases the tank temperature. I had three tanks in a room (smaller bedroom size room) and cooling was starting to become a very hard problem.

Everybody oversizes their pump. Can you imagine the money saved on electricity and initial pump purchase?
I have a 225 Gallon tank with about 40 gallons or so in sump. I have a Panworld that does 1100 gph (265 X 5 = 1325) and I still could have done smaller. I have to throttle the pump back!!
