  1. I was just wondering why I hadn't seen you on the board lately. So sorry to hear, maybe sell the livestock parting out and you will get some cash and can keep the hardware? Lee
  2. I have a dual overflow brick 225 gallon tank. I will NEVER have a center brace again, it is so nice not having to work around a brace or have something to block lighting. Trust me, go without a center brace. Lee
  3. Be sure and post this and lights on www.maast.org as well. Bet will sell quick!! Lee
  4. Dude, I live so close, but I'm a pastor and a little busy right then. I would love to help just to see the tank!! Sorry man, please post if you move to another day! Lee
  5. Man, I did that one time and it is SUCH a long season. It was fun for a bit, but tracking pitchers!! Man though, I had Randy Johnson for one of my starters that year!! Just don't have the time, but it is a lot of fun!! Lee
  6. Not sure as I have never really kept any fairy wrasses but would highly recommend asking on Reef Central's forum "Reef Fishes" there are numerous fairy wrasse experts that post there frequently. Lee
  7. I would love to but need some more growth in my tank!!! Count on me for later in the year!! Lee
  8. Man, 18" is awful narrow on a tank that long, really consider going wider!!! You would be better going off wider and shorter. 31" tall will be harder to light as well. 30" wide would be great!! Gives you space for large rock and plenty of room for corals to grow. Lee
  9. The one at Aquatek seemed quite healthy. If you are interested, you want to make sure you see it eat at the store. I didn't look a long time, but it did seem to be in good shape. Lee
  10. That was a juvenile Chevron Tang. They do change colors as they mature but are still nice. I believe it was $120 if I am not mistaken. Lee
  11. You also mentioned having another tank in the room which also adds to humidity and decreases evaporation which increases the tank temperature. I had three tanks in a room (smaller bedroom size room) and cooling was starting to become a very hard problem. Lee
  12. Where did you get your Picasso's? Very nice. Lee
  13. Welcome and post some pics of your tank! Lee

    hi~~~

Welcome and don't worry, some of us don't speak English all that well either. Do we ya'll? Lee
  15. Everybody oversizes their pump. Can you imagine the money saved on electricity and initial pump purchase? I have a 225 Gallon tank with about 40 gallons or so in sump. I have a Panworld that does 1100 gph (265 X 5 = 1325) and I still could have done smaller. I have to throttle the pump back!! Lee
  16. The pump may be cavitating. Do you have a ball or gate valve on the return side of the pump? If so adjust, to reduce flow and that should remove the bubbles. Either that or air is getting into the return lines? Do you have an siphon holes drilled in the return nozzles? If so, where, that may be a source of air depending on where you drilled them (just at water line, etc.) Lee
  17. What part of austin are you? I have some buckets and water containers you can borrow. Have a tub for holding your live rock as well. Lee
  18. Short answer, not at all. I love hermits and have some awesome ones in my display, but the purpose of a refugium is to provide a safe haven for critters that would normally be eaten in a display. In general, sand sifting stars, shrimp, crabs, and cukes have no role in a refugium. Lee
  19. Not without putting it in some tank to cure for a while beforehand. You could put some in a tank and add one small live rock and give it a while to cure. Lee
  20. Got Rock? I do! & Sand, Salt, Light -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As payment for some work performed, I received about 500 lbs of Rock. This was live rock and in a tank two days ago, but I didn't have enough tanks and saltwater to keep it in water. I dunked each piece in saltwater and cleaned them. I have some very large piece, lots of medium size pieces, and an overflowing 20 gallon tank of nano size pieces and a very small amount of rubble. Hope it goes without saying, this should not go into an existing system but would be perfect for mixing with some live rock. There are some awesome shapes and sizes. There is Fiji, some branches, a couple of shelves, and a couple of pieces of rock from Africa (can't remember name) that has the small looking bubbles all over (calcium formation - not an algae). Pricing is as follows: Large & Medium Pieces - $2.00 lb Nano Pieces - Nice - $1.00 lb Rubble - $0.50 lb Here are some photos: I have 120 lbs of the Tahitian Black/White Sand. 40 lbs is new in bag and the remainder is in buckets and was used in two tanks I had. - $60 (3) 50 Gallon Reef Crystals Salt Mix - $20 (1) Oceanic Instant Salt Mix - $5 I will take cash, paypal ([email protected]), or trade for Tunze 6100/6101 or higher. Lee
  21. If you get to where you just need a bigger tank to hold for a while until someone buys it, I volunteer my 225!! ; ) I would love to get it but really need to buy some equipment first!! Lee
  22. Wow, beautiful gigas!! Looks like the clown is playing with his life hanging out in that thing!! Bump for beautiful clam! Lee
  23. From what I understand, the owner skipped town with the cash and some critters, he left some dogs and like behind and will be charged with cruelty. Sounds like you are just a bit late!! Lee
