Wardlaw
How much water do you replace a day? How big is your tank? Is it open or canopied? What type of lighting???? My 120 seems to be losing 1.5 to 2 gal/day. Is this normal? I have two 48" build my leds and the top is currently open.....just wondering where I stand looks like ATO is higher on the priority list than I thought
George Monnat Jr
My 6' 125g with a open LED lamp frame above it was using about the same 1.5g/day until it got cold recently. I'm really hoping it goes back up so my ATO can add more limewater (alk & calcium).
mrshall1027
Sounds normal to me. I have a open 135g rimless (72 x 18 x 24), 3 x AI Sol LEDs, and refill my 5 gal ATO every 3 days or so.
+boognish
sounds about right - especially with evaporative cooling. 175 Gallon tank Canopy 3 x 400W Metal halides that are air cooled to the garage 3 x 54W T5s Even with very efficient closed duct, air cooled lighting system, I lose about 1 to 1.5 a day. jestep
36 x 18 footprint w/ 500W MH. If I use a chiller, I top off about 2 - 4 gallons a week. If I use a cooling fan, easily 10 gallons per week.
ckyuv
55g with 150wat mh and 2kessil a350w on it, I go through about 1 gallon every 3 days
Timfish
With evaporative cooling I've seen 15% a week which translates to about 2.6 gallons a day for a 120 gallon tank.
Peter Gott
I replace about .25 gallons a day, from a 25 gallon system with a 10 gallon canopied refugium and a 15 gallon open topped DT, 1 36w PAR38, 1 Kessil A150w (I think that's ~36w), and one Marineland Accent LED lighting, which totals about 4.32w. Bpb
0.75-1 gallon per day evap 60 gallon total water volume. "Open top" but 4x54 watt T5HO directly on tank rim...it's LIKE covered. Only about 1" open gap in the back
