  1. Thomas, I knew your brother as a wonderful person. I barely knew him, but I feel the loss and will miss him. Ty, I sent you a donation to your PayPal. Let me know if you don't see it.
  2. I'm in. Should I do the Ty Pay Pal thing?
  3. Last night I was too bummed out to respond. I didn't know Tim very well, but we were on a first name basis since I bought some frags from him and occasionally saw him at RCA. He was a great guy, and his passing is a big loss for the Austin reefing community and our community in general. I was conflicted about 'liking' the OP, but I did as thanks to Jake for posting it.
  4. I did my refresher at Dive World, my wife got certified at Scubaland and we've done a ton of classes at Scubaland. We really like Scubaland. They do their winter diving in Reveille Peak Ranch. If you're by Stillhouse Hollow Lake, you can use Scuba Divers Paradise. They're SSI but good people.
  5. I was just updating my dive site list, and when I saved it it blew up. Sucked the motivation out of continuing to edit. I was using MSIE v 10.0.9 on a Win 7 machine.
  6. Delivering pizza was my favorite job, so I always tip well. Every time it looked like I might lose my job or when I actually got laid off, I seriously considered delivering pizza. Tons of guys on base/post in the military do it for extra cash. No stigma in my mind. Congrats and good luck.
  7. Have you noticed a difference in coral growth, color, etc.?
  8. I looked back in the thread and didn't see what field for your degree.
  9. I deleted my comment as internet humor may be misinterpreted and go horribly awry....
  10. My step-dad has had a long career as a welder and weld inspector for the DOE at Bryan Mound (really Texas and Louisiana). He's blind in one eye from working on a car (metal flake), so wear your PPE!
  11. Straight copy-and-paste from my post above: A few weeks ago I noticed that when I copy-and-paste into a post it adds extra line breaks. It makes it really ugly and annoying and time consuming trying to fix it. Even when I copy from one post to another (I started a new post then realized it should be added to an existing thread, instead). I'm using Firefox 21.0 on a Win7 laptop. 13. That's real engineering work, especially in semiconductor
  14. Did the pseudocorynactis / Ball Anemone ever get out of control? Has anyone ever found a way to eradicate them? I don't have any, I was just reading about people complaining on RC.

  16. That's awesome. I have huge respect for self-made people and entrepreneurs. Working for a paycheck from someone else (like me) is "easier", but with the lower risk comes less reward.
  17. I was enlisted - we all had that title If you went through a Texas MEPS, then you may be eligible for the Hazlewood Exemption. That's basically free classes at any Texas state college/school. I used it (after using up my GI Bill) at ACC and UT. A semester cost me about $150 (plus the dang books).
  18. So was Michael Dell. That by itself doesn't mean as much as some people think. Training. What was your MOS (in plain English)?
  19. Do you feed Cyclop-eeze or fine filter food?
