Gig 'em Aggies.

Yeah, I'm still not over that 77-0 butt kicking but this a start. They played lights out. Sucks we lost another coach today. Nobody wants to stay and build on success. Losing Moore and Swoops will be hard too, but we coped with losing V.Miller pretty good. That being said, I think ATM's future is bright. Sumlin is a refreshing change. He brings swagger that we've been missing and is making us appealing. Johnny is amazing, and is a legend already. Can't wait for them to start remodeling Kyle Field. Going to be awesome. Gig Em...

To you Aggies (T-sip here, saying congrats and great game), you've got the best o-line in college football. Sherman installed it (he's an o-line first guy). How many of them are leaving, and who's your new o-line coach? It annoyed me last night that Musburger (don't care if that's misspelled) kept slobbering over Bama's o-line saying it was the best.

One of the tackles is staying (allegedly), the other is a question mark. Joeckel (the question mark) is a legit top 5 pick, and would be INSANE not to go. Damontre Moore (DE) is gone, Ryan Swope (WR) is gone. They've got a great recruiting class, so that should help. FML.

I dunno. Football isn't transitive (just because OU beat UT badly doesn't necessarily mean a team that beat OU badly would be UT). Funny things happen in rivalry games, I would have rather seen the tradition continue than watch that drubbing.

Not me, still able to say "first, most and last" without facing Johnny Football and the fired up Ags is fine with me. UT still isn't a good team. My wife and I came this >< close to leaving the Alamo Bowl at half time to get some sleep before our nieces baptism the next morning. Luckily we stayed (sleep less important).

The human/media polls have TAMU around 5 and looking forward to the BCS final (not that the BCS is a good system, but football is about to go away for 8+ months).

You know who else wasn't a good team? The 2011 longhorns, and they beat a QB that is starting in the NFL, with Von Miller, and both top 10 OTs. I totally agree that the team Texas fielded this year is mediocre, and that Manziel is the best DB texas didn't offer at QB (except for RGIII...) :)

Don't know how true this is, but I heard that UT and ATM can't play for 5 years due to the way ATM left big 12. Said they had to sign an agreement on it. Said there was no way the Cotton Bowl could have been played with those 2 teams.

I'm sure I am about to catch some heat for this but I think A&M got lucky drawing Oklahoma for the bowl game. Oklahoma always plays terrible in bowl games.

No grief here, I honestly believe Stoops focuses his entire year planning against UT and getting his players up for the RRS. I think that's why OU whoops UT most years then sucks post-season.

I have a ton of Aggie co-workers, friends and family (and of course vet). They're good people (almost all) and I'm happy to enjoy their whooping of OU with them for the next year instead of half of us upset at the other half. It's really nice.

I really hope the Ags do well next year, too (but UT does better ;) ). I hope the other SEC teams don't figure out Johnny over the off-season and plan solely to combat that.

I think this is very unlikely. CFB fans are exceptionally diligent when it comes to stuff like this, and because both of the entities in question are state institutions, would be subject to FOIA requests. In short, it would have come out by now.

In addition, Texas had no pull with the bowl selection this year. A&M was originally slated for the Cap One Bowl, until the SEC intervened and placed the SECCG runner-up in the higher ranked Cap One. In addition, NIU bumped OU out of a BCS bowl game via the Boise State rule. Consequently, OU fell to the cotton bowl. Again in short, the collusion necessary to keep UT/A&M from happening would have been historic (influencing 100's of voters to place NIU in top 16 to dump OU out of the BCS bowl AND convincing the SEC to put UGA in the Cap One bowl over A&M).
