  3. Teresa, i want the chromis. looking for a second for my new one thats tring to school with the clowns. the clowns are not having it. i can pickup tomorrow anytime. Matt
  4. price drop on a couple things.
  5. at the very least i would swing more towards diatoms, if the tank is or rock is new its part of a cycle and will burn off in a couple weeks i know it makes your tank look like crap but its just part of it. you can add snails that eat the diatoms. my favs to get this job done are trochus, astrea, and nassarius. they are quick and efficient at getting the problem taken care of.
  6. The name "cyanobacteria" comes from the color of the bacteri, i have seen what some say is cyano, but its not. there are many forms of bacteria that mimic the texture and look of cyano. and im sure chemi clean will take care of most of it.
  7. i would be surprised if it was cyano or diatoms, neither really look like rust color cyano is more deep burgundy colored and diatoms are more brownish in color. it mite be something in the rock. was the rock new dry rock or was it cured cycle rock? see if you can take a toothbrush and brush it off.
  8. Corey, if you can wait a week till I get my calcium rx adjusted I can watch them. Rite now my calcium swings just a little. It is a new setup tho so things are still trying to adjust. Had a small cycle but nothing dr tims didn't fix in 24hrs I have 2 t5ho and 1 250w mh but I have shelves and can put them in some shade. I for sure have the room as I haven't stocked the tank yet. I wouldn't mind watching them. I feed brightwells coral amino and coralkolor and restor and that's it. But it is a new system so I can't guaranty anything and a heavy sps tank but I have some room on the bottom. Where my zoas are.
  9. They can be very small and get pretty big. They do have several extensions on the stars. Those will grow bigger and will grow more. Till it's all spun out. It will look cool i hope it makes it! I'd love to have one in my display. I think there wicked cool.
  10. First time i saw one was in Indonesia we were diving the The garden of eden at night. they were everywhere. it was very cool. thats really the only place ive seen them.
  11. wow that is a basket starfish, they are pretty rare in a captive reef cause most the time they die cause they need lots of care and hand feeding. ive never heard of anyone successfully keep one. i know they roll up in a ball during the day and they are normally nocturnal could be looking for food during the day cause its hungry, from what i understand you have to feed them everyday to every other day. they are beautiful when they get big. they will grow lots of arms and they will weave them like a basket.
  12. Sure makes my 40g br look small, lol on bigfoot

  15. Well I hVe done it, so I guess I defied all the odds. I'm like chris angel I guess. And my for sale thread is not a "glass polishing" thread. So thanks Matt
  16. well then my advice to you, is to maybe read less and take what people say for granted and truths and experience it for yourself, im sure i can find somewhere online that the empire state building is only 5 stories but doesn't make it true. and my buddy at binswanger glass would tell you it can be done w/o compromising the glass. now if were done hijacking my thread. thanks.
  17. The 5g is glass, and the dimensions are 8 1/2 x 16"
