  1. Im checking to see if anyone is interested in doing a group order with buckeye. im almost out of mag flake and gonna order some more. its 28.00 for a 5g bucket witch makes 16g of magnesium. they have smaller quantities if you want smaller. i use randy homes 2 part recipe and use 7 1/2 cups of mag flake and 1/2 cup epson salts to 1 gallon on RO water. here is the link to Randy Holmes Reef Keeper artical for those not familiar with it. Randy Holmes ReefKeeping Magnesium recipes they have other things as well but ive always just bought mag flake from them. Order will be put in no later than next Friday. i will pay for everything and people can either drop off cash or paypal me prior to the order being placed. thanks Matt
  2. Yea I have one. That's what I was thinking about doing. Then cutting the holes out to make the lock line slide threw it
  3. Well, the pipe is 3/4 and the fitting is 3/4 threaded for the locine.
  4. Looks nice! ive never seen those fixtures. the 2x150 with the 4t5s looks nice. wish i would have seen that before i ordered the Hamilton. i would have tried that baby out. it looks cool.
  5. thats kinda what i was trying to explain. but cut the holes out more so the locline slips in the holes. i have like 16" of locline already with the Y and the 3/4 to 1/2 in reducer and a slip x threaded 3/4 inch fitting to screw the reducer into.
  6. What im thinking im going to try is (but it could ruin the overflow if it doesn't work) is dremel the holes all the way to the top of the overflow and cut the return down about 5In shorter and use the loc-line and bend an elbow or use a loc-line elbow, and push the loc-line down in the valley i cut as far as i can. im already using 1/2 loc-line so i dont want to go any smaller. then i could go away with the bigger street 90 elbow and free up some room.
  7. i thought about that, but i dont want to do that. its rimless so it would show and be kinda ugly. i made a cover for the overflow out of black acrylic that matches the acrylic the overflow is built out of to make sure all the plumbing was not visible already. Matt
  8. Heres the best pic i can get without climbing all over the sump lol. but you can still see there far enough apart. Matt
  9. They are about that far apart. i just have 2 45s on the return and the gurgle buster uses 1 1/2in pipe. so it really looks closer than it is. if i take a pic from the bottom side you would see. i have the 45s on the return to kick back the pluming when i was trying to run it the first time. when i had the durso OF system on it.
  10. ok all heres what i been trying to work with. i have a custom 40g tank build going on, the builder drilled the return and down pipe to close or something. maybe the whole overflow is to small i dunno could be any of the aforementioned. well the return for loc-line has 2 exits out of the return one on each side but there isn't enough room to plumb both. yes i realize i don't need both, but i want to use both cause its a center overflow and have issues with dead spots in the corners prior. any ideas? here are some pics of what Ive been trying to deal with. Ive tried everything i could think of. tubing, plumbing, ive already kicked the return back with 2 45s just to install the down pipe.
  11. Bigbird how old in the 1262?
  12. i need to get some stuff too. bulk carbon and GFO and some odds ans ends. ill be around 50 or so.
  13. Did you tell him your rock was 5yrs old? you do understand you will probably not even see a cycle. when i started the 34g i used new sand like your going to do and the same rock you are getting from me that ive had for 5yrs and i didn't see a cycle at all. my tank isnt close to ready mite have water in it by tuesday but im still getting mine ill keep um in a bucket with some rock ive been cooking since the 90g breakdown over 14 months ago. or my little 29g thats empty. if the local fish stores can keep them alive w/o any sand or rock for weeks to months i think mine will be ok. Matt
  14. Forgot i was told its only 200 for us. he will email me and tell me we didn't reach it.dont believe the code will work for us with the group buy but its worth a shot.
  15. OK, so were setup Friday is the cut off shipping will be Tuesday it will ship will be at my house by 10am next day (Wednesday) add " Austin Reef Club" to the notes when you checkout and make sure you do group buy for shipping select payment and done! Matt
  16. oh lol, haven't added it yet. i wasn't done i want other things too. but was just showing what im ordering for a clean up crew. if anyone wont be using there macroalgae let me know so i can post it on the forum some people can come get it if they want it. Matt
  17. thats correct. penny macro is under plants and macro algae Matt
  18. Also if you guys are unsure about what to get, you can have John build you a custom clean up crew. its really easy and they know there stuff. just as an example here is what im ordering. now i do have a full 40g clean up crew in my solana but im not anticipating most of it making the teardown and resetup so im ordering kinda light for my 40g setup Name SKU Price Quantity / Update Subtotal Assorted Hermits* 25 $0.55 $13.75 Dwarf Cerith 20 $0.15 $3.00 Florida Cerith 20 $0.40 $8.00 Nassarius Vibex 20 $0.40 $8.00 Nerite Snails (Small - Medium) 20 $0.45 $9.00 Zig Zag Periwinkles 20 $0.20 $4.00 Subtotal: $45.75 Total: $45.75
  19. Guys dont over think this. it will all be shipped over night.
  20. here is the link to the Dr. Tims Bacteria, this will answer all the questions you have about it. http://www.mrsaltwatertank.com/bacteria-in-a-bottle-snake-oil-or-worth-trusting Thats correct the cuc w/ hermits is with shipping and its over night on the crabs so still a pretty decent price for overnight, but the goal is the 250. im going to get around 50 myself maybe more. just depends on how my tank progression is cause i want another fighting conch the penny macro algae is .01 cents a penny! so did we decide on a day for shipping? was monday good? i have to tell john what we have decided so he will be ready. Matt
  21. Ok how it works is, you will pay on your own, if we order over 250.00 we qualify for free shipping, otherwise the shipping will be charged but it will be less as it's a group buy and only shipping to one location. During checkout John will put your name on your package and you will pay with cc or paypal what ever you Like. Then in notes you will put Austin reef club and he will know where it goes. So the goal is 250.00. Mindflux you can still put a crew in your rock in the buckets. It will be ok. Your not gonna starve them by any means. I would recommend it. The packaged clean up crews don't come with crabs so if you want them you have to add them. But let me tell you, your not getting baby anythings from John. He has really good product and I've never ordered cucs from anywhere else. I've gotten crabs other places and they were little bitty tiney things and it was horrible. Crabs are good size and there is I'd say a 1% death ratio. Were most are almost 1/4 of yor stuff is dead or empty shells. I highy recommend reef cleaners. Dont for get to add the penny macro algae. I'm sure lots of people on the forum that would love it if you don't need it or want it. They ship on Monday's, weds, and Fridays. For crabs and things that require next day they don't ship Fridays. Let me know if you have any questions Matt
  22. Ok talked to John, we need to figure out a date when we want it to ship and where we want it shipped. I work from home so I can get the package no problem. Everything will be setup when I give him the shipping date. I was thinking Monday for shipping then it would be here by Tuesday. Matt
  23. Don't want it in my rimless. Don't think it would look good.
  24. To bad i cant use this on my 40g breeder build. always wanted a wave box.
  25. I sent an email to John, but haven't heard back yet. I'm sure I will soon. He's never not emailed me back. Matt
