Free ARC shirt to represent with? Lol

Assuming I have em in stock, I'd be happy to provide shirts to ARC members who are attending MACNA.  I know I have the largest supply of C4 shirts, but have a mix of others...

  2. They won't go away on their own, they'll spread like a weed.  The only way I've heard of getting rid of them was a copperband butterfly, i had one that destroyed aiptasia and them.  I never saw a clove again.

  3. Thanks to a recent donation of equipment, ARC is happy to announce that River City Aquatics (RCA) and the Austin Aqua-Dome now have PAR meters available to rent.  Available to be rented in 4 hr or daily blocks, just show your ARC Premium Member card to get a discount off of your rental.

Sun System PAR Meter w/ Remote Sensor

Thanks to our benefactor for the donation and to Gary and Jake for managing the PAR meter rentals for the club.

Starting a new tank with dry rock and I need some pods to start growing for future fish. I used to buy from a company called reefs2go, but they seemed to have changed their name ( Aquarium Depot I think), and they no longer offer free shipping on pods. I don't really want to spend $35 for 250 pods shipped to my house. Does anyone have a local source?

Localish? Pod Your Reef is in San Antonio and run by a scientist. I'm sure shipping would be pretty cheap.

Pod Your Reef is a great choice, and sometimes meet people off I35 if he gets a big enough group buy going.

My aquarium is evaporating about 20g per week and I do a 50g water change once a month. I have two 55g barrels and haven't had a problem with them except around the bulkhead. I'd be interested in buying some replacements and reworking my mixing station. Thanks for the links everyone!

Wow, 20g a week sounds like a lot. What temp do you keep your house at?

I did the email admin while all this is going on. Yes I might agree with you with this some part software and part possession. I have 3 or 4 pM"s that just rebound back to my email.

These were all PM's mind you. Not me trying to reply to a donotreply email.

Can I cut at the rock. I am trying to clear some out.

If you want to move it at the rock you don't even have to cut it, just grab firmly at the base of the stalk and pull. It should peel away from the rock and come off as a whole piece.

I could be wrong, but I believe it is green nepthea.

    Green singulara.

You can cut it with scissors, i usually cut at the fork.  Loosely rubberband the frag to a piece of rock, if you put the rubberband too tight the leather will pinch off at the band into two pieces.

  9. I started with one tiger tail in my tank about 5 years ago.  I assume it has split because I now have about 8.  They are definitely nocturnal and are one of my fav clean up crew members. I've never had an issue with them "nuking the tank".  My pink cuc moves all around the tank, the tiger tails are seen only after the lights go out or if I move the rocks.

  10. I got a few royal grammas about a year and a half ago. They both disappeared within a week.  I assumed dead and gone.  About three weeks ago I went to feed the tank late at night.  I saw a gramma in the corner of the tank.  It grabbed some food and then darted into the rocks.  I haven't seen it since.

Do you have other tank mates that might be aggressive and keeping them in hiding?

  11. View the Glass Through Polarized Lenses

If you try to view tempered glass in sunlight with a polarized pair of sunglasses, you will see dark, shady spots or lines stretching across its surface–a prime indicator that the glass is toughened. These lines were formed by the machine rollers during the tempering process.
