  2. well I am always down for help....it has just become more complex than need be...I set it up so I can experiment with an algae turf scrubber...that and I am attempting to go completely "powerhead-less"...ambitious I know...but...what the hell right? if anyone wants to help feel free to PM me
  3. sorry about that...I have been in plumbing hell....I borrowed 2 cans from Cool Breeze but then I bit the bullet and got my own RO today...but I may take you up on using it some other time

  5. dunno if you will find ANY 10's that are NOT tempered....most those little guys use all tempred glass....1t may have been 15.99 for the 5gallon and 24.99 for the 10gallon...don't remember exactally...just know they were cheap.
  6. I think the 10gallon tanks at aquatek are something around $15 ...just an idea....i may have a 10 lying around...lemme check my attic

glad to have you! welcome aboard.
  14. me too actually...even though it isn't entirely true...but then again what would hollywood be without propagating misconceptions
  15. looking for some basic sage wisdom. examples would be lbs of sand/gal wattage of light/gallon lbs of live rock/gallon amount of powerhead and qty/gallon sump overflow/return per gallon cleanup crew size how much to feed/how often refugium size per gallon etc. I am well aware that there are no HARD SET rules in this hobby and it all depends on tank residents etc...just looking for some general people's tidbits of info...pick your brain if you will... let the information sharing begin!!!
  16. Ok so would cleaning it out and say...painting it black solve the issue ( i see a clear tube and I want to paint it black....)
  17. basically the title says it all.. over the past 3 days the J tube of the protein skimmer on my daughter's 28 bowfront has began growing some sort of brown algae (internally). but the display is fine. do I need to clean this out or just leave it be? all tank levels are optimal. will post pictures later
  18. good to hear...now after all that trouble....how realistic is it?
  19. $54.13 after tax....I tipped the waiter $20....so $75 bucks after some heavy tiping. but would have been in the low to mid $60's with a standard 10-15% tip. Way cheaper than what I normally spend at Truluck's or Southwest Grill (in the 4 seasons)
