Let me know man, I can assist in setting one up, designing one for your space (no charge, for the lulz) and I have a tds meter you can use to check your water, pre and post ro
#1 Do you have a TDS meter? if so what is your TDS of your water (pre-salt mix)
#2 Algae turf scrubbers....seriously, I have turned around GHA-Laden tanks with one a few times. and they are cheap/simple to make
Most likely a separate pump, but in the hob, I was thinking cigar tubes, or testubes, maybe even a toothpick holder or epoxy vial. And yes, there will be a DIY if successful...or daring...or drunk enough to attempt.
As silly as it sounds, i am considering making a few small reactors for my daughter's pico tank. is there any reason why making a small phosphate reactor wouldn't work (and I do understand the challenges of getting the flow to be low enough for something sooo small, but i have a few ideas (manifold one pump to several reactors and a fuge). is there any reason say a 5 FL. OZ. (or less) reactor wouldn't work?
if not (other than the entire idea is silly - which I know it is) I think I will make an interesting how-to in a few days...
yes, i did...and it is on the plan now as well.
I scrapped the plan to retro fit into the pendant as the Kessil on an arm doesnt look too bad without a cover
...but I was able to retrofit it in the pendant, the problem was the chrome "arm" that comes with the cardiff, the Kessil cord has a male - female connector and fishing the cord through the chrome arm was impossible due to the size of the barrell connector on the kessil...so I bought the kessil arm cause I am lazy and it was cheap ($40)
Kalkwasser directly applied, with all circulation off...I do it in a QT (when it isn't a structural rock) to avoid the Kalk wasser paste getting allover the place (on corals etc) i think saltyunderground has a writeup on it
I'd say it looks a lot like a majano, but that is again, just me...but also in my opinion...I'd rather eliminate a potental pest and be wrong, than not eliminate it and be wrong
