    Calcium Reactor

    K. I was in a hurry during the first post so I didn't get more info in. Tank specs: 100 gallon rimless 36x37x18 40 gallon refugium 117 lbs. LR 90 lbs. of Tropic Eden Aragasnow SWC Xtreme Mini Cone Protein Skimmer Reeflo Snapper return pump Vortech MP40W ES Used Precision Marine CR series Calcium Reactor 5 lbs CO2 bottle with M3 regulator and Tiren solenoid/needle valve Aquacontroller II is my controller
  4. I have had my calcium reactor setup for about two weeks. I am having issues keeping the CO2 flow regular. It will put out three or four bubbles then stop for 10 seconds then do three bubbles again. No matter what pressure I have my needle valve on I cannot get it to be regular. I currently have the pressure turned all the way up to 50 PSI to get three bubble every ten seconds or so. If I turn it down below 30 PSI then the bubbles will eventually stop all together. Does anyone know how to tell if a regulator/needle valve has gone bad? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this? Thanks in advance. Also, with the PSI turned to 50 PSI my KH has gone all the way up to 14 and my CA is at 460. All of my corals seem very happy. As I am still very new to the whole calcium reactor I don't know if this is way too high. I have heard of people running their KH at 11 or 12, but never 14. Is this way too high? Also, I am not sure what my MG is because I don't trust my current test, and haven't made it to the LFS to pick up a new one.
  5. Thanks for the great corals. Nice meeting you
  6. dang I thought you were in SA. I would have jumped on this stuff sooner. I'll take the FF watermelon chalice colony and the Tyree purple war coral. sending PM
  7. I also might be interested in the MH. Just depends on the details.

    Few SPS for sale

Any pics of the red planet?
  9. You weren't supposed to put your Roomba's inside the tank top clean the gravel I haven't had issues with the latest generation of Roombas (the previous gen I did have random things fail). lol...well why not? That's what I bought mine for and I must say it did a lousy job of keeping the sandbed clean.
  10. lol....hopefully it lasts longer than the roomba. My roombas always broke after a few months.
  11. Just add to the rest of my stuff.

Unfortunately yes it was. My little point and shoot has a decent digital macro, but it doesn't do so well through the glass. When I took this pic I was too lazy to go and get my DSLR thus the reason for the point and shoot
  13. The tank is up and running. I moved all of my livestock over and so far everything is doing great. I like my first attempt at aquascaping because it give me a lot of room on the sandbed and I think it looks pretty clean. Also, it is very open so the fish have plenty of places to swim and there is not many places for detritus to build up. On the other hand I can't decide if I like the large center mass in the aquarium. I still am toying with the idea of two rock peninsulas with a valley in between. I can't decide. Any opinions?
  14. Too bad I was placing my order with BRS about five minutes before you posted this.
  15. Congrats!! you wanna sell him?

Thank you sir, but I don't think I stand a chance next to yours.
  17. I had a Tiger tail cucumber in my 110 for about a year with absolutely no issues. I got it when it was about 3" and it was about a foot long when I sold it with my tank. It was great at keeping the sand bed clean. I may have just gotten lucky with my experience, but I thought I would share.
  18. Tank is empty. I just need to clean it up and it will be ready to go.
  19. grrr....so frustrated....I don't have enough salt to bring my SG where i like it for the new tank.

I'm sure any of our sponsors will be happy to help you remedy that issue. ;)

  20. Today I moved the aquarium to its new location and re-hung my light over it. I also started the very slow process of filling the tank with water from my RO/DI. I have a 75 GPD unit so I imagine it will be full sometime tomorrow. Assuming there is no new leaks then I will mix in the salt and hopefully get the sand and LR in and start the aquascape this weekend. My MP40 ES driver is supposed to come in Friday morning so I will have new toy to play with when I get off work. I am excited to see what kind of flow this thing is capable of. The lights in the pics are just my actinics. I had already turned my one 250 watt MH off, but I am actually very surprised how well it lit the tank. I still plan on changing it down the road, but I think it will work well enough for now. The pic of the internal components of the sump are just to show the craftsmanship that PM puts into their refugiums. I am still very impressed with this thing.
  21. I have an one year old 34 gallon AIO Solana in excellent shape. No scratches that I can find. The only reason I am selling is because I am upgrading to a large tank. I have made a few mods including changing out the return pump for a rio, I think 2100, painted the glass on the stand black, and changed the stock skimmer out. The new skimmer is a barely four month old Euro-Reef Nano Reef Systems skimmer that works amazingly well. This cost me $200 this past February. This tank is still set up but I will move all of my livestock in the next few days and get this thing cleaned up. I also have approx. 40 lbs. of well established LR that I can throw in for an extra $50. I am looking to get $400 $375 for the Solana, stock stand, and skimmer. Or $450 for everything with the LR. Sorry the pics are bad.
