    SPS

Thanks again for the awesome frags.
  2. i'm glad to hear there is going to be another tank similar to mine in the area. I have a 36x37x18 semi cube. I have tried several different lighting options over my tank and haven't been happy yet. I first wen with a single 250 with pc hanging fixture, but i didn't like all the shadows it created around the tank. I think you would have the same problem with a single 400 or 1000. Also, i'm not sure how your aquascape will be but i have a central lr island and with the single light it created one extremely bright spot in the middle or the rockscape that would get cooked by the intense light. I then changed to a hanging fixture with 2x250 mh and 2x39 t5s. I really like the fixture, but i'm still not getting the spread front to back like I would like to see. I think stephen hit the nail on the head when he said 4x150s in a canopy, but if you're like me you don't want to build a huge fixture to hang over your tank and ruin the asthetics. My next attempt is still the 2x250 mh, but i'm changing to lumenarc mini reflectors to hopefully spread the light out better. I have built a hanging fixture that matches my stand perfectly. In the end it will be a hanging fixture with 2x250 lumenarc MH powered by lumatek dimmable 400/250 mh ballasts, and 4x39W T5s in individual reflectlors for actinic supplementation that will be driven by an icecap 660 ballast. This will all be hanging and hopefully will not ruin the rimless look of my tank. If you'd like to come by and see my current light versus my new light so you can get some ideas feel free to swing by. That way you can do it right the first time.
  3. Hope everyone has a safe and merry Christmas.

  4. I actually have never gone. I have just reaped the benefits of other members trips. Though I know a lot of people go to the jettis at Port A. I believe you go at night and shine a flashlight along the rocks. You'll see their little eyes reflecting and you can just scoop them up with a net. Like I said though I've never been so I'm not 100% sure. You might start a new thread to get everyone's experience that have actually gone before.
  5. I have two cleaner shrimp, a coral banded shrimp, and I'm not sure how many pep' shrimp I have. My two cleaner shrimp are ALWAYS sitting near the front of the tank just waiting for food to pass by. If I stick my hand in the tank they will usually come up and get on my hand and start cleaning. I guess I have a lot of crud on my hand that I can't see. My coral banded shrimp hangs upside down in the same crevice underneath a rock and I rarely am able to see him. As far as the pep' shrimps I never see them unless the lights are off and I hit the tank with a red light. As far as I know I have never had a pep' shrimp touch any of my corals, and I have alot of acans, chalices, various other LPS, and a ton of SPS. Just a word of advice though. If you are getting the pep' shrimp to help control aiptasia you might consider going to the coast and netting them yourself. I have purchased several from the LFS and only one of them has ever touched aiptasia, but every one I have ever received from the coast eat aiptasia. Plus you can catch some other cool critters too while you're down there.

    Frogspawn

I have a 7 head mini colony of Frogspawn that I'd like to sell. $40
  7. I've got a 36" with 2x250 MH, 2x39W T5, and blue lunar LEDs that I will have for sale shortly. Don't know if you're interested in that length, but just thought I'd throw this out there.
  8. I need a few things. I should be able to get over $31, but I've got to look. Mark, I'll PM you my list shortly.
  9. not to shabby. I hate the little wheel on the 6091. What are the two wheels for on the side of the controller. Are those for individual Tunze pumps?
  10. Just curious if anyone here is planning on attending. Should be a kick in the a**, but a lot of fun.
  11. If you have to stay within four feet you should check out the Marineland deep dimensions tanks. Specifically, the 200G 48x36x27. That would be an awesome setup.

    Palytoxin?

You may want to add carbon to the tank just in case.

    New Chalice :)

I traded a guy in SA for it.
  14. Just got my frag of the Bubblegum Monster Chalice. Just thought I'd show off a pic.
  15. 3 polyp frag of Tubb's blue zoas. $10
  16. I'd be interested in the Oregon tort. How big and what are you wanting to get for it? Any pics?
  17. Has anyone seen a Frogspawn randomly pop up in their LR? I have a small, 12 head, colony of frogspawn. I noticed this morning about six inches away from the closest branch was a little tiny frogspawn head coming out of the LR. I thought this was pretty cool, but I was curious if anyone else has ever seen this. Alright, well I tried to upload a pic, but for some reason the forum keeps telling me "Error No file was selected for upload". I am 100% sure this is a frogspawn head and not a hitchhiker.
  18. Well, how's it working? Hopefully you got it all fixed up.
  19. Buy your own rodi unit. It will save you money in the long run.
  20. I still think this sounds like something that should be able to be remedied. What kind of impeller does your pump use? needle wheel? mesh? or just a standard impeller? It might also need to be cleaned as well as the housing around the impeller. I would start by pulling the whole pump and cleaning it all with vinegar and water. Also, are you sure the air intake side of your pump is clear? Might try getting a small drill bit and running it through the whole just to make sure there is no obstructions.
