  1. Yes when I have seen this is the past I first assumed it was just some clever avatar someone had designed for themselves. Bill
  2. I'm glad I asked!! This is a great club. As they say it'd be a bargain at twice the price. I also have 'joined'. Thank you!!!
  3. I hear mention of a 'Premium Membership' from time to time and I think the little red + signs in the online role indicate a premium member. What is it?? Bill
  4. wish i was 30 again Amen - Enjoy it Ryan. When you're 30 that seems a little old. 10, 20, 26 years later you realize how very young that is. Happy birthday!! Bill
  5. Maybe - Just because you put a male and female together does not mean they will become a pair. My guess is if you put another male in right away she will know it is not her 'mate' and will not be friendly with it. With a little time, perhaps weeks? before another male is introduced this might work. Were it me I would try to sell the female or make her part of a trade for a known pair or two very small clowns who are hopefully both male still. JMO Bill
  6. I have a 5W tetra. It already has a little pump, some tubing and a stream deflector. - $25 That one at RCA is definitely nicer than mine, but I am not sure it has a bulb, which of course would be a substantial expense. Bill
  7. 24" PC and Sump both sold. Bill

    Pump trade?

Dustin If you don't find anything at all I have a Rio 1400 (420 gph), which I am sure is at least a year old (came with my running tank) or I have a 2100 which is newer, but of course not much less powerful, definitely not new, but newer. Just a couple of options, just in case. Bill
  9. I have been looking for an inexpensive one myself. This is what I am gleaning so far. 1) If they are new an less than $125 or so, particularly local, they probably are not very good. This would include Coralife, and probably just about anything available at Petsmart or Co. Unfortunatlely the prizm rates a little better but still 'not good". 2) The only two I have heard of new and less than $200 that are pretty good are the Aqua C and even a little better the Octopus. 3) Euroreef and it's cheaper clone ASM are even better but these only in our price range if they are used and available. I'm sure there are many others but these are the only one's I have really run into thus far in my search. I bought that ASM G Mini (rated for up to 75) from Nick/Zoo yesterday. It seems to make a heck of a microbubble storm but the motor/impellar is a little too noisy to be right beside my bed. You could have it for the $50 I paid for it. They are only about $125 or so online new. What I have done thus far is work in reverse. If something gets mentioned as being available then I go research it. Bill
  10. The sump is sold and gone. Thank you. Bill

    75 Gallon Tank

It is definitely gone. Nice to meet you, Kyle and Jennifer. Bill
  13. Here is the 30L sump from the side and top.
  14. Josh I have a few of your more common corals all for $5-$10 depending on size including: Green Star Polyps, couple different brown palys and a sm frog spawn but I live in Leander Bill
  15. I have a hodge podge of things I'd like to offer. 1- Doctorfish tang - $15 This little guy is only 3-4" long but in captivity and starting small it could get up to 9" or so. I have had it about 6 months and I don't think it was grown at all, so apparently it grows slowly. It changes colors anywhere between a little green/gray with violet tinge along the fins to dark brown. Active and mildly aggressive. The first pic is actually a different fish but displays the 'freckles' and typical color more accurately than my picture did. 2. 24" 65 Watt Coralife Light with Adjustable Mounting Legs - New - $50 3. A few Green Star Polyp frags $5/$10 - This one Brown Paly with two different type - $10 4. 30#-40# Live Rock - $2/lb Small pieces- about 10# piece. Little or no coraline but it is live. 5. 30L DIY Sump - $20 - will take/post pic if there is any interest
  16. Sorry to post at the same time as jknight, but I am trying to clean up a little and 'he' has a little different tank. This is used but nearly new looking - no chips....... I am not sure of the brand but it is the less expensive line with black plastic trim and center brace. Seems I saw a logo someplace as the outline of an anchor (all glass, perfecto?). I will post a photo soon, but it is a standard size 4 ft tank - no tops. $50 (this IS NOT the one I was giving away ) Bill

    75 Gallon Tank

I just switched out my 75 gallon tank so I don't need this one (standard 4 ft size). It has mucho micro-abrasion scratching, as if the previous owner used steel wool regularly to clean the glass. This results in the view looking a little hazy and not bright and sharp, but I was happy to have it for about 8 months. Watertight, in-tank overflow, plumping in tact, UNCLEANED. Tank only. I live just off 183 and Crystal Falls Pkwy. If you have a PC lighting frag I would gladly accept it, but I REALLY don't expect anything. Bill
  19. I was struck with you comment on the emergency 1 GALLON CHANGE. In a 20 gal a 1 gal change is not very much. I would say it is definitely not enough to effect your water if you suspect some form of pollution. I also wonder if this means you have been doing no water changes thus far. Even on a new tank I don't believe 0 changes would be recommended. If changes have been minimal this might be part of the reason for the cyano, although I believe it is very common on new tanks as are diatoms. Also regarding your powerhead. I think most of the time critters are already weak which is why they are able to be sucked into the 'fan' = they may have very well been weak and thus sucked into the intake as opposed to being sucked into it and becoming weak. You mention your readings are generically fine. Regarding deaths I would be most suspicious of nitrites or ammonia or possibly even water temps; but just guessing here. Good luck. Bill
  20. While the key part of your quote may be "worth the effort", IF you are in the 183/Duval area I think the Gallery of Pets is worth checking out. Sometimes, esp. right after a delivery they will have some decent buys. Bill

    A Few Fish

Dena I am truly sorry I upset you. I purposely used the word 'observation' hoping that it wouldn't be viewed as a criticism or necessarily even a suggestion that you do something differently. Ironically, it was only because you did appear to be doing something nice, that I commented at all, especially since this seemed to be a 'must go' situation. There are some people, me being one of them, who are not good horse traders at all, so saying OBO does not encourage 'us' to suggest a lower price. I guess it was unfortunate that my 'plans' happened to be going to a different LFS. I only mentioned this to make sure you knew this was not a back door approach at negotiating a lower price, as I had 'no dog in this hunt'. In retrospect I should have PM'd you. I do apologize. Keep up the good works! Bill
