  1. Thank you so much Tim!!!!!
  2. Hi all, Both of my aquariums were getting overrun with Anthelia. I fairly meticulously picked off all I could, used a steel brush frequently, etc. etc. It looks soo much better, but I'm sure you've guess the punchline. Already I'm seeing new little heads pop up here and there. I started trying to pick them off to avoid completely tearing up the tanks again but I'm hoping for a more permanent solution. I thought about trying to squirt some hydrogen peroixde on them. I've seen admonitions that I also kills corals but very few of my corals are really prize corals, so if I lose a polyp here and there I'd gladly exchange that for ridding myself of visible anthelia. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated. Thanxx Bill Brister
  3. Hi Tim, Thanks so much for your feedback. I was hoping you would notice my post. I spent a little time going through some of your vids hoping to see a glimpse of you, unsuccessfully. I am not usually very active but I feel like I have met/seen you sometime over the years possibly at an ARC club meeting?? Anyways, thanks. Bill
  4. Can anyone tell me what this red stuff is and more importantly how to get rid of it. Picture is not good but it is fairly stiff and difficult to grasp and remove. It's also starting to spread more.
  5. Hey thanks, I can kinda see it now. I had not noticed that in the picture it is slightly open. Most of the time it is not.
  6. So I just turned the lights on and I'm just kinda looking things over and suddenly - Did I see that rock move? I watch it for a minute and sure enough it lifts up about 1/8" or less, very smooth like a snail and when something comes close it hunkers down quickly again. One time it closed with enough force that the whole little rock its sitting on, moved slightly. I havent tried to touch it or pick it up. I havent had any clean up or the like, yet, and the only thing I have seen are a couple the little tiny shell-less snails(?). Sorry tmi. Yes it's that coraline covered 'rock right in the middle of the picture. Looks a little like a petrified cicada. Guesses? Bill
  7. oops, just saw your pm page
  8. Hi I'd love to have both of your offers, but particularly the sand. I'm also in Leander so I can fly over when you say. Bill 512/784-4475

Hello, I would be very interested in the Rena's if they are still available. Thanxx Bill Brister
  13. That would have been quite eerie if that was me in the picture. I know them though. This year I believe the smallest pond is closer to 1000 gallons. We do not have any quite as fabulous* as Lost Creek but many are really nice and I believe there is 6 or more ponds that are over 10,000 gallons, including the spring feed pond in Westlake that's 40,000. *Do you remember Lost Creek actually had half a full size tugboat coming out of their fence line, which doubled as their kids 'treehouse'? btw folks - that is someone's back yard, and their two ponds are unpictured in the foreground at an even lower elevation. Bill
  14. The Austin Pond Society is having their annual pond tour this weekend. Pre-event tix are just $12.50 for the whole weekend and can be bought all around town or online at Austinpondsociety.org. Of course more info is available there also or I will be happy to answer questions here. Bill Brister President, 2010 Austin Pond Society
  15. I not trying to be rude but you might want to reconsider the hobby. I suspect you have a fair amount of livestock in your tank that is wild caught. Same thing. You just don't know the people who caught it. Bill
  16. I didn't think it through. The time might be about right BUT I will not be returning to my house for 3 or 4 hours after that. Please PM me with your availability tomorrow. Thanxx Bill
  17. When are you going? I have a Pond Society meeting tonite and will be driving right past there, but it will probably be before you get there. Bill
  18. Hey Belinda I shoulda asked you if you were sellin' anything else the other day. I would like one of your Joker frags, please. I could probably come by tomorrow if you are available sometime. Thanks Bill
  19. Wow - that's a long way from everybody else interested so far.
  20. I would be in for $15-$20 worth. I would head it up, but I am about the most north of all respondents so far. Also I think Leander is a day later than an Austin address. Bill
  21. If the 55 'deal' doesn't work out I would like to have it. Bill
  22. Alrighty then, let's go for it. I am sending Mark my email and my name in ARC. Remember we need at least people to be in the order but then we can gang up our orders to save a little postage. Anybody in the LCP area wanna go together with me? Bill
  23. I have about a cubic foot of the blue ones (2-300). I don't know if they are Lee's but that style. You were very generous when I bought frags once so whatever is 'cheap' works for me. I was thinking $10 but if that's not a really good price I'd take even less. Frankly I'd give them to ya, but sure as I did, I'd realize I could use them on one of my 4 FW tanks. They were out back for a while, so you might have to pick some oak tassels out of some of them. I'd even drop them by if I could do it during the workweek and day. Just PM me if you want to work something out. Bill
