  1. well, how bad are they at knocking off corals? I have been wanting an urchin, but I am concerned he will knock off alot of stuff do they do well in reef setups? (55g) thanks
  2. basically, the drip controller is a round piece of plastic that can slid up or down within the controller case.... the inside of the case is angled, so sliding it down, starts to "crimp" the drip hose, essentially allowing you to control how much liquid flows through the tube. I used mine for drip acclimating, and my buddy uses his for calcium drip. let me know if you want one....I have several of these still unopened just sitting here....
  3. trying to get this toadstool leather to attach...nothing has worked. Tried rubberband...that looked like it worked, but over a week later, when i cut the band...it came right off. i ordered it from swf.com and it came with a tiny rock...it has since grown over that rock. suggestions?
  4. will trade you a refillable IV bag with drip control....see my post in the classifieds. ...if you cant get your asking price for it. peace
  5. yeah, these work great....I got a new order from saltwaterfish.com this morning, and I just filled it with water, and let about 6-7 drips per second go into the container...and walked away. came back an hour and a half later, and put the fish right in the tank....he's doin fine
  6. well, the only way I was able to find re-usable (openable) I.V. bags was to order a box of 12 of these. Soooooo, I got about 10 to get rid of. They are super easy to drip acclimate stuff with. just fill it your water, and walk off. they have a piece you can use to control the amount of drip you want... I dont want any money for them....but I am about 5 months into a 55G reef tank, and would love some cool frags. Nothin big, just somethin new, and you can have one of these bags and the drip hose (brand new in the package) Let me know if you are interested...im in north austin (parmer - mcneil) Peace .....if someone will explain how to post pictures, i will post a few of them in action
  7. best deal i found was here....turned out to be good rock too. took about 2 days longer than it should have, but that was only bad cuz I sat by the door everyday waiting on it! http://www.intmarinefish.com/liverock.html
  8. i cant help, but definately post of you get it figured out...i am interested in the same idea....I could really use a few "custom" rocks to fill in certain spaces.
  9. jimbo, cant answer your question, just saw you lived off parmer and mcneil...I'm in Millwood, off of Dallas. What LFS are you going to? just wondered if you knew of one up here I have missed. Nate
  10. i gotta get some MH so I can keep that kind of stuff
  11. great, how can i post pics....I want to show mine also, dont these corals "sting" other corals....looks like yours were pretty close to some of the others...
  12. So, im only about 5 months into this reef tank, but I have a Colt Coral that is growing too fast. Is this thing getting out of control, or am I just freaking out cuz it can sting others.....if so, anyone wanna tell me the right way to frag it? thanks wait...how do i post pics? [/img]
  13. BTW, in case you didnt know...river city has a big sale the first thursday of every month...starting at like 7pm I have seen buy 2 get 1 free corals, 20% off....double check that, but I think its on a thursday.
  14. I dont know if this is what you are talking about, but I am new to fragging, and so far, so good. Would this resource offer a way for locals to setup trades? I would like to be able to show what frags I have for trade, and see what others are willing to trade. for instance, I have a colt coral I have been fragging...and am willing to cut a custom frag (it is too big for me now)...I dont want money....just zoos! is there already something like this? does your site offer trades? thanks
  15. that is where i get over 60% of my stuff. i really like that place...good prices, and their livestock selection changes all the time.
  16. yeah, so far my purchases have been 50/50 between saltwaterfish.com and River City. I need to try Austin Aquariums though...never been.
  17. sorry, wasnt me at the meeting....would like to attend one though...I am hooked!
  18. ....by livestock, I mean everything from crabs to corals. just fyi
  19. Online? then where...? In town....whats your fav, and why? thanks, new to the game....even fairly new to Austin...need advice. went to Aquatek, and didnt get a great vibe....apologies if thats your fav spot. dontknow.gif
  20. Hello I got a colt coral that has just become a monster...easily 4x the size he was 3-4 weeks ago. I have fragged him once, just to be sure I knew what I was doing, and that frag has attached to rubble and is growing just fine. my concern is that the colt is getting to close to my other corals, but I dont want to frag him unless I have people interested in trading. I can pretty much frag him to whatever size you want...his main stalk is almost as big as my wrist, and he is 8-10 inches tall, and spans about 10 inches wide at the top. Let me know if there is intrest. can email pics...im am just too new to attach them here i guess thanks nate
  21. Hello, to all Glad to find this resource. I am fairly new to reef keeping, only about 6-7 months into the hobby. few more posts...and I will add some pics of my current setup. 55G 70lbs LR 13 gallon sump thanks nate
