  1. The anemones need no maintenance from a fish so it's entirely your desire to have another fish or not. I've never had maroons but my guess is the new fish will get beat up pretty bad depending on what your pair of clownfish are.
  2. I say be the mayor of fairy wrasse city! Get like 7 different fairy wrasses and call it a day. There will be so much motion in your tank a person will get dizzy just looking at it.
  3. I've been whispering to the hippo but he doesn't really listen to me. He sure does listen to the emperor grunting though.
  4. Yes, run sand please! You'll be spending your days siphoning fish poop and live rock crumbles for the rest of your life otherwise! [emoji12] I told him in 12 years of reefing, I've only siphoned my sand for 2 years and I felt like it caused me more instability than it fixed. So I stopped messing with my sand from that point on. For full disclosure, none of my sandbeds have ever made it past 3 years as I've always upgraded tanks before that mark. There's still time for me to crash and burn in a couple of years and eat crow. 5. That leads to a great question, is it better in reefing to have great equipment, or great reef keeping skills? If you could only have one, which one is more important? [emoji4]
  6. Happy birthday sir! Your contributions to this club are invaluable! Enjoy your day!
  7. I think I could dump all 200+ frags in my frag tank right now and it wouldn't even make a dent in your tank. [emoji6]
  8. It grows like a giant ball so the diameter makes it more difficult to cut with just a dremel disc. With recent reclassification, the alveopora is actually considered more closely related to acropora than goniopora (flowerpot). Blew my mind when I read this. Convergent evolution showcased at its best in nature! It's got the look of goniopora but without the inherent difficulties that gonis are known for. It's super hardy, at least in my experience, and tolerates a lot of conditions.
  9. Enough to get in trouble with. I'll be posting them for sale once they heal some more. Everyone can pick up at the meeting at my house Feb. 20th.
  10. Okay, the picture of the frags are a little hard to see but it cut it so clean that the frags have put their polyps out only 2 days after the procedure.
  11. What do you get when you combine this: With this?: This! [emoji4]
  12. Nice setup! I'm jealous! My house would totally look like that if my wife didn't keep me in check.
  13. That's why I pat down everyone before they leave my house. Is that a tort in your pocket or...
  14. What's that sir? Polyp... I got a polyp growth on my arm. Don't touch it, could be contagious.
  15. Yeah, nothing like putting a magnifica in my pocket. I can explain the rash honey! Was that too much? [emoji23]
  16. I might get a chance in the Fall. Maybe I can reach out to him and get a behind-the-scenes tour.
  17. Sometimes I just do things to see if anybody is paying attention... Uhhh... Good catch there buddy. [emoji12]
  18. Here's an article on reefbuilders that links to other articles detailing other parts of the system if you want to nerd out on it. [emoji4]

  21. I'm like a little bite-sized morsel just swimming around out there.
  22. Fair enough, but when I win the lottery, I'm getting a big ole tank and paying someone else to take care of all the things I don't want to. Probably not 20k gal, but more like 600.When I win the lottery, I'm buying an island located on an atoll. Forget the tank, I'm going straight to the source. No maintenance required though my chances of getting eaten by a shark went up just a smidge.
