  3. anything new Chris? hows it going?
  4. glad to hear, i think by the way u are explaining your box its a Shane's style overflow box...But im glad the air line worked.
  5. ok so everyone says it wont work.....well lets see i had a 120G (48"x24"x25") 4 feet long 2 feet wide and 25" tall. I had a NANO wave box in the right corner facing forward to the front glass and it would make a 1-1.25" wave all day long. It really depends on the rock work. I now have a 60x30x27 and a big wave box in the corner facing the length of the tank and i can make about a 3" wave if need be. But honestly its terrifying to see 200Gs of water moving in a wave that big, i tuned it down to about 1.5"s
  6. man that looks awesome, coming along good now. I may have to come by and look at it this weekend. Pillars turned out great. When you get ready to switch thing over LMK im just right down the road.
  7. I to am defntly not an expert but i can tell you when i did my tank switch last July i lost 80 percent of my SPS that i had had for over 3 years (HUGE colonies). I did test after test and the one thing that i came up with is that my salinity was a little low,MG was realy low, and my PO4 was to high compared to the original tank i took them out of. It made me sick to watch colonies the size of volleyballs die off with no end in sight. And i have ben keeping SPS for over 5yrs and it has taken me almost a year to get a true grip on the parameters to where everything looks good again. They call it the "MAGIC", and there in lies the truth of SPS. Thats why they are difficult, but once you have the magic its on, you will grow SPS like crazy. Birdsnest is one of the harder ones to keep alive, even in an awesome SPS tank they can RTN/STN overnight for no reason. Practice makes perfect, just dont give up.
  8. wishing the weekends were longer...LONG day

  9. Patrick i might can get a deal on slightly used with warranty LMK
  10. Chad, i have found that if i mix my water to long it clouds up BAD. Now when i mix my water change water i watch it and when its clear i do my water change.

  12. mine does the exact same thing. As soon as i get home its like he knows who i am and wants me to pet him if i could.
  13. +1...you will like the biggest tank you can afford and have room for. Yes everything will cost more but you know if you do it right the 1st time it will turn out to be a beauty. I would say atleast a 120G or bigger.
  14. they are very personable.
  15. send me a pic or maybe i can stop by. Just got back in town from a week of Mercedes training in Houston.
  16. tank is looking great, there is nothing like having a quality built PM sump. once you buy one you never wanna go back. Nice lookin CHEVRON
  17. i have been throwing this idea around also, but i just like the natural look of the light of a MH.
  18. its no biggie to have to slow the flow down if u have powerheads in tank. if u dont wanna slow the flow to fill the boxes, then u will have to get a bigger return pump to put more water in the tank faster or raise the 90 degree fitting on durso(longer standpipe). Also on top of your durso i would drill a whole big enough for a 1/4" vinyl hose, it will add oxygen to the water and help the flow.
  19. Chris i wish you would hvae called, i can help. mine was loud as well. i tried countless ways to quieten it down and now its silent. LMK, i can stop by
  20. Jeremy (offroadodge), may remember i work at Berlis. LMK

  22. i can get you bulbs, Mackentires in Georgetown usually has alot of variety. Chad and Belinda are closer than i am to them, maybe they can stop by and look at selection
  23. @LUDAKRIS Well Steven summed it up pretty much. I graduated TSTC '96-'97, i can still rememeber the instructors Mr.Lovejoy (retired now) Archie (paint) and I think MrsMills or Miles does all the paperwork. There were other instructors but those were the most influentual. The colliosion repair industry is a dieing trade cause of insurance companies trying to cut corners. At the shop im employed we dont have to worry to much about who is gonna pay for what cause most of the time if the Insurance doesnt pay for it the customer will, being that i work on mostly cars ranging from $65K-$250K + usually the owners dont care what it costs. (Lambogini,Lotus,Aston Martin,Bentley,Ferrari,Mercedes Benz etc) They just want it RIGHT. I have worked in dealership atmospheres and independant shops, the shop im at now will be (baring and unforschene occurance) the place i stay for the rest of my life. We use caroliner and celete equipment and can make a car look like it never been wrecked down to the way the factory seam sealer looked. When you get outta school give me a ring or PM, i can give you a tour of our facilities.
