Same here. I think the best ones I've tried are the hydor heaters, with fluval a close second. Definitely won't waste my money on a Marineland. But I don't like how all of them vary ago much in temp. Without buying an expensive thermostat it sounds like your screwed no matter which one you get!
My husband read mostly good things about the finnex, and I've read good things about the cobalt heaters. The cobalts look nice, and they're advertising only a .5° variance in temps, but with one of my systems being about 160gal, buying enough of their heaters would cost me almost $600. That's not counting the rest of my tanks. It would be cheaper for me to just heat the house to a suitable temp all winter

Yikes!! How long ago was this?

I'm looking at heater options, and came across this brand. They look pretty decent for the price, but before I buy some, I was hoping some of you guys have tried them and could share your experiences. TIA!

I know where the petco near me gets their fish from, the ones I get from their same supplier do extremely well. So I've concluded that the fish get stressed and sick in their systems at the store lol.

I want a dwarf orca for my tank lmfao!

Oh that's gorgeous! I might have to get me one :-)

Agreed,it was a great meeting. Thank you Teresa and her husband for cooking and letting us all come over. The presentation was very informative and interesting, and I came home with a bunch of awesome corals too :-)
-
Thanks for all the frags from yesterday, got PE on all of them, they look great :-)

Roy V how big and how much is that setosa, its the orange colored one?
If anyone has else has sps frags I'll be interested. On my wish list is strawberry shortcake, purple rim monti, and some of the more unusual plating montis. I'm not too picky though :-)

Awesome, all the rocks were extremely colorful and beautiful :-) and the little corals on them were exquisite.

The red grape and red feathery stuff seems to be doing well, as well as the bivalve creature. I see it opening and closing, it shuts right away when something goes near it.

Glad you're enjoying that macro, I still have plenty if you ever want some more :-) I'm thinking that leather will grow very well in your tank, I'm anxious to see it after another couple months.

What should I bring as far as snacks or drinks?
-
Finger stopped working? Yikes! Are the long spine urchins the only venomous species, or some of the pin cushions too ?

I've used lanthanum chloride on many occasions with everything from softies to clams, never had a bad reaction, seems to be most effective getting rid of gha and cyano. For me its always been a use only as needed type thing, used with manual removal and reducing nutrients added to tank. If you use it make sure it doesn't have any detergents or anything extra, those bottles say "plus" our something similar on them. You want the plain lanthanum chloride

Haha, I absolutely love emerald crabs! They are loaded with personally and hilarious antics. They will eat just about any macro though, when I had mine they got huge and would even eat a tightly balled up chunk of cheato within minutes. I wish I could have them in my big tank still, but apparently they make a tasty snack for a zebra moray lol. I hope to get a few for my little tank soon though.

I don't have anything scheduled for that date, maybe I can finally make it to a meeting! I have tons of polyp frags, some orange people eater frags, toadstool frags, purple leather frags, Palau nepthia frags, maybe finger leather frags, not sure what else. I can bring some drinks or something else too, whoever knows what other people are bringing lmk so I don't bring the same things

Ooh I like the water skiing idea!

My place is far and needs some remodeling, otherwise I'd be happy to host a meeting

I've kept mushrooms near the top like that, the colors on those were real intense and gorgeous. Caps always do real well, so do some birdsnests although I've had a couple kinda bleach out when they were higher. My neon green birdsnest is the easiest one to keep, almost nothing will kill it and its such an eye catcher when it gets bigger

thats neat! i like that macro. yea if you cant use it i would love to try the shrimp sucker
-
awh that sucks hope you get a nice, good eating one in this next order

I'm sure hunter wouldn't mind feeding him before you purchase but if he says he's eating I would be inclined to believe him. He said my cowfish was eating well and he sure was right! That fish eats everything, including my fingers and arms now lol
-
Lol, you don't have to worry about me grabbing the little guy, I have nowhere to put him right now
