my cyphastra doesn't look great either most of the time, not sure why.
Coral- tough one, I always find myself staring at my duncans and monti caps
invert- I love the conchs, I have a teeny dwarf one as well as a few larger ones, they're cute
fish- my vote goes for cuttlefish

Yep hes in an extra tank that i put all my extra frags and stuff. theres a few small damsels in there as well. So far he seems to stay closed up until he smells food that i feed the tank, then he opens up. I was thinking ill do a live phyto drip in there in hopes of keeping him well fed, but i need to find a good starter culture first. Does anyone know if those little bottles you buy at the lfs are any good for starting up your own cultures? And yep, this one came from Patrick

sorry I haven't even been home much lately, maybe tomorrow

I only run leds and all my rocks are purple, except the few new ones I put in. there's some growing on the back glass too, but I notice it doesn't seem to like the glass much. I'm not complaining lol
-
hey Roland did you get some new ones? will you be available on Monday?
-
my alk in that tank tends to run low, it was 8.5 a day or two after the water change. I dose this tank for alk, calcium and magnesium as needed. I'll mix up a new batch tomorrow and test it before I use it.

I decided to try Kent to see how it went, and I wish I hadn't now. some of my Sps looks happy with good PE, but my green birdsnest started to look like crap all of a sudden with the tips looking bleached. that Coral started from a small frag and is about softball size now, I hate to think it's toast. my Hawkins echinata is also turning brown now, and no matter what the temp or parameters look like, it's always stayed a beautiful blue and it keeps growing. my purple caps also faded out, they used to be a pretty lavender color.
I have never switched salt mixes before, I've been using instant ocean for years now. I only changed out about 15 gallons in a 145 gallon system and I've never seen my corals do that before. are these symptoms typical of switching salt brands? will the corals adapt or should I switch back?

Wow that's a cool sight! I see more and more in mine but I never see them come out all the way, just see their legs sticking out
-
Hmmm. I'm definitely gonna look into that, thanks! Even if they aren't technically captive bred I think it's a better option than larger wild caughts
-
Tank raised? I didn't know they were breeding them, where can you find tank raised juvies?
-
I'm surprised the palys are alive that long with no light, not too surprised about the algae, it's tough to kill that stuff

What part of town do you live in?

I like the rock work, and me liking the livestock is a given how long has the candy came looked pissed like that? Mine will occasionally look like that for short periods of time, but go back to being puffy shortly after

How hard/easy are the controllers to use? I've never tried any type of controller before

Does anyone around here breed seahorses? I would like to buy a few captive bred ones if someone has them. Or pipefish.
If not, some type of interesting peaceful fish? I need some fish for my macro/softie tank that is fishless, not too picky about what kind they are as long as they are not herbivores.
Also looking for some interesting green or other colored macros, all i have are red varieties and prolifera, looking for something different.
Gorgonians would be great too, been wanting those too. PM me if you have any of these, or know where i can find some. Thank you
