  1. ive seen them wither away sometimes when they look like that, but other times ive shaded them more and made sure they didnt get too much flow, and they went back to looking normal with time. ive never tried to feed muschrooms but i dont see why it wouldnt eat if it was offered something tasty and wanted it.

  2. hmm, without knowing how knowledgeable that customer was i can't say what i really think about that situation definitively. I'm glad the seller was honest about the ric rock. rics aren't hard to care for so if the customer has basic knowledge and a set up that would house rics, i don't think there's anything wrong with making sure they know there's a chance they night not make it since they aren't looking so good, and discounting the rock. of course I'd make sure the reason for the discount and the status of the rics were noted in the receipt in case that customer tried to make the seller look bad, they could pull it up and prove the customer about it.

  3. the black fin goby of course had to have a bunch of diff names, and it doesn't seem like they're nearly as common as the pink ones.

i just found the black fin shrimp gobys scientific name - cryptocentrus pavoniniods

  4. aqua dome, don't think that will happen, they're both about the same size, shouldn't get much bigger.

timfish, just am idea i had rolling around in my head. might just put a yellow one in one of the other tanks if i can find a nice enough one that's not super tiny.

teresa,is that a good thing, my post making you spend some money? lol!

  5. if he just moulted you prob won't see him at all for a few days.they're soft and vulnerable after they moult so they hide real good for a while until they harden back up. i have a little freak out every time mine moult, i love my shrimps!

  6. thanks :-) i haven't really seen too many of these in people's tanks and i always wonder why. they are pretty cheap, don't pester other fish, don't get picked on, don't bother anything else and they're entertaining. this one backs up into his cave like you would back your car up into the parking spot lol.

i have another goby t looks just like this one only with different colors, was sold as a black fin shrimp goby, also a beautiful hardy fish, but he's not as outgoing as this one. i often see my fire shrimp hanging out with that goby instead of in his own cave.

  7. hmmm, i thought i attatched a pic?? i guess it didnt work! still cant get on the forum regularly, im using a proxy right now :( lets see if this one works:

heres one of his mounds, all that substrate hes sitting on is the sand he has sifted. he turns them into tidy little mounds near his cave entrance. (he also came up to the glass cause he thinks hes getting fed lol)

  8. Picked up this guy from phamily a while back, i think hes becoming a fave of mine. besides having some really pretty colors, he lets me take alot of cute photos of him, hes not shy at all. will come up to the turkey baster to grab food, and sifts sand around his little cave without dumping it on corals. great fish!
