    Macros

Thinking of adding a macro other than chaeto to my newly set up fuge. Any thoughts? I have some LR and a DSB in it but that's about it. I have some PC lighting over it.
  2. OK so what I did was use the gasket from the extra bulkhead on the nut side and that worked a treat. No leaks! Nice work, Bio.
  3. Yeah thinking of running out to RCA and get a new bulkhead to say that I tried that. Stressful!
  4. Thinking about silicone around the outsides but I know that would just be patchwork. Which of our sponsors would I potentially call to come fix/set this up?
  5. I'm not sure where I'd find those gaskets. I went ahead and put teflon tape on the threads and now it's leaking more. LOL!
  6. Ahhh...the old leaking bulkhead problem. Iinstalled a two-piece sump underneath the tank and I can't get rid of these leaks. I have both pieces on apiece of that pink, spongy material you get at Lowes to make sure it's all even. I have the gasket on the opposite side of the nut. I hand tightened and then gave it a small turn with a wrench. I did not use teflon tape and can but don't think that will really help. I can see an occasional drip between the panes of glass. I really need to get this together today because I am leaving for a week tomorrow on a business trip. I fear the wife may hold a fire sale in my absence if something is leaking! Thanks so much!
  7. Good deal. PM me your address if you would.
  8. Oh crap...I don't think I can get my new sump into my stand!

I'm going to have to cut a bigger hole in the side. Pretty ghetto...but you have to do what you have to do...

  9. Dave has a very nice tank. Highly recommend taking a look.
  10. Woot! Just finished up all my initiating project documentation! Of course, it still means no time to do the water change :(

  11. At Cowboys Stadium today for the epic collapse....

give some credit to the Lions!

  12. I hate when I put frags in the tank, the glue doesn't hold, and the frags disappear!

Buy EcoTech Coral glue. Mark Callahan sells them or you can buy off the net.

  13. Are those Tubbs Blues, second row middle?
  14. Oh, I don't have anything special. I have some orange mushrooms and an orange ricordia that are kind of nice. I also have some plain jane hammer...and the world's supply of trumpet coral. It grows like xenia in my tank.
  15. Where are you located?
  16. Looking for one...size doesn't matter. I hope.
  17. You need to keep the ends cool.
  18. I'll take it if no one else foes.
  19. Seconded for Reef Geek. They send candy too!
  20. I would bet that color combination is not very blue.
  21. How much and what size are the small toadstools?
  22. I know, I know I am grasping at straws . The truth is that the coral has never looked great...it should have a nice burgundy color. I know I am also trying to tie in the candy cane coral as having the same issue when it may be something completely different.
  23. This is my bulb combination. I just replaced the bulbs in January from Reef Geek. 1 x 54W 6500K Daylight T5 HO Fluorescent (GE0005) by General Electric = $14.95 4 x 54W Blue Plus T5 HO Fluorescent (ATI1013) by ATI = $83.80 1 x 54W Fiji Purple T5 HO Fluorescent (KZ0005) by Korallen Zucht = $29.95 I haven't checked the PH in a long time.
  24. As you can see, this coral appears to be very washed out. I think because it is getting too much light. I have a 90 gallon tank with 6 over driven T5s (IceCap ballasts). I don't have a ton of rock in the tank and I'm not sure where to put him. All parameters are fine: 1.025, 420/9, 0 nitrates. You can see the candy cane to the left not open as well. This is just a small piece that has branched...it grows like crazy but it just doesn't open. On the bigger piece, the polyps at the bottom, out of the light, are open. Someone suggested that I take the reflectors off of my lights to reduce the brightness. That seems like such a step backwards! Anyway...any ideas? Thanks!
