Past few days I wasn't able to work on the stand. I had to play taxi driver and take my girlfriend to the doctors and hospital. Lucky for me the next appointment isn't until Tuesday, unlucky for her she has to be in pain until Tuesday when the referred doctor is back in his office. I took a chance today to wipe the stand with a tack cloth and rattle can the frame. I still need to sand, tack, and apply a second coat. Only to sand, tack and apply sealer After that I will move onto skinning the exterior and adding in magnets (still need to order those). For the exterior I plan to use a brush/roller instead of a rattle can because I reminded myself tonight how terrible I am with a rattle can. I'll be able to live with the bad paint job on the frame since it will be hidden 99% of the time, but I'd end up way to annoyed if the exterior was like this. I'll let this dry and hopefully apply coat 2 before I go to bed tonight, allowing it a good dry time before starting on the minwax helmsman polyurethane application. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4

Yup that's it. It doesn't rack at all, I'll attach solid plywood to the whole back too and bottom plus shelf. I'm pretty sure it will be sokid at that point. Then I'll attach magnets to the front and sides to secure on the panels. I've got to go get paint and some type of epoxy sealer tomorrow. Added some brace support today to the stand. Next is filling the holes with wood filler, sanding,paint and seal. After that I'll start working on plywood to skin it. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4

Yeah thats the new to me workshop. It's located in a building off the beginning of the dock, I'll snap a picture of two tomorrow of it. I'll eventually start replacing the workbench and shelves that are currently in it. For now I just cleaned up the junk and tossed a window ac unit in one of the windows and started working. I haven't even unpacked anything fully for it, just the tools as I needed them.

I set my skimmer basically the same way.

make sure what ever fixture you use them on it has a remote ballast. a sunburst 250 watt HPS/MH with built in ballast will pull these hangers down even when in the locked position.

when you upgrade look into the SCA skimmers. I'm impressed with the one I just bought brand new for $50.
