  3. I might have to hit you up if I cant find mine
  4. Yea it was worst all you could see was long green hair algae until the mangroves started sprouting now it's dying off and cyano is taking over... New tank syndrome
  5. I wish I took a picture before I cleaned it up and added the mangroves haha I filled a gallon tub twice with just the hair algae
  6. man I just got rid of most the hair algae in my tank but it still aint pretty! It was a whole lot worst than this though
  7. They're good. They'll catch any food nearby and aren't harmful at all.
  8. not sure if ill be avaiable for pick up tomorrow...
  9. How old is your tank? Lighting filtration? My tank is going through the same thing but my tank is fairly new so not sweating it too much. my clean up crew comes in tomorrow so that should help.
  10. I'll probably get roasted by other horse keepers but the eel grows to be only about a foot long. I've kept these eels with gobies and other small fish with no problems at all as they were quite content with ghost shrimp frozen mysis and table shrimp.
  11. One of the new horses! Thanks to the guys at RCA!
  12. hermits will flip snails and eat them live or even if the snail falls over and cant get back up. Try rubber banding some nori to a small rock it should last a little longer.
  13. A little about my tank. Its a 100 gallon with about 200lbs of rock. Its lit by 2x150w hqi and 2x130w pc. I have a 55 gallon sump running a euro reef cs8-1 skimmer and a 1/3hp chiller temp is kept between 78-80. using a mag 12 as my return and also run a tunze wavebox. Just added 3 tiny chromises along with my 3 tiny firefish. Im also waiting for my golden dwarf moray eel to come in. Sounds like im taking things a little fast but 1/4 of the rock my sand and 2/3 of the water are from my reef before I redid the tank.
  14. +1 for the stars I had 3 brittle stars and 1 harlequin serpent star and they took care of any left overs the fish didnt eat
  15. thank you. I wish I had a camera of the rebuild it was quite fun
  16. thanks! Its a mix of foam and rock. I have one little firefish in there right now and just bought a golden dwarf moray eel which should be here thursday! Then im probably gonna lay low for a little bit and let my system catch up to handle the bio load.
  17. ok so I didnt have a camera during the rebuild but here it is after the cycle has finished
  18. I usually suppliment with nori. They come graze on that then go back to grazing on rocks.
  19. if the hermits are starving maybe the snails are too?
  20. interesting read on the worms. I found a worm very simular to the eunice in my rocks while I was drying them in the sun for my rebuild. It was about 8-10" long and was quite scary if you ask me.
