  1. Here is a great thread on RC for a 250g room divider: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...enumber=1[/url]
  2. His screen name is Hobogato. Here is a pic:

    wow

He was making a joke anyway. His problem was salt burn from undissolved salt not the Nudis he suspected.
  4. Welcome! Very nice tank. I love the clam.
  5. I'm glad you don't have any Nudis! Yes, it is always a good idea to let any salt mix for at least 24 hours before doing a water change. Update on my problem: I found 1 nudibranch a couple days ago and removed it. I am still waiting for the wrasse to come in. All my remaining Montis seem to be doing good.
  6. I have read the laws for collecting in Texas. All you need is a saltwater fishing license. You can collect any fish except those on the gaming list ie: Tarpon, flounder, sea bass etc. As for corals it is a little weird. The law says you can collect anything that has less than a 1 inch root in the rock. So I am not sure exactly what that means. It took me a lot of searching on the Texas Wildlife website to find it and I didn't save the page otherwise I would post a link.
  7. I will plan on meeting you at Shane's at 10. I will bring your ballast w/me.
  8. That does look similar to the destructive pattern they are leaving on my corals.
  9. I am by no means a lighting expert, but I also have a 125 (6'). I am using 3 250w SE MH bulbs. I am growing soft, LPS and SPS. I find the hardest part about keeping all 3 is getting enough flow for the SPS without blowing away the others.
  10. I could help Sunday morning, but I have to be home by 2.
  11. These were used for less than 2 months. They work fine but I don't have enough Actinic supplementation to get the color I wanted. So I switched to the 12ks. $20 each.
  12. Thanks for chiming in guys. The more we all harp on people about dipping AND examining everything we put into our tanks the better off everyone will be.
  13. Sounds like pods. They are good.
  14. Mushrooms or zoos are a good beginner coral. You might still have a little bit of a cycle depending on how long the live rock had been in the store. I would give it a couple of days and do a water test before adding anything else. Welcome to the club! and the obsession!
  15. As many of you know I have had a problem with these Nudibranchs. I am ordering an Ornate Wrasse to try and control them. I thought I would post some pics so that anyone that doesn't know what to look for will see them. Make sure to check all frags and rock you get from anyone! Here are the eggs: And here are the actual Nudis:
  16. They were both great. I noticed that the Hawaii aquarium said they only ship their frags to other public aquariums. I wonder why.
  17. Anyone? Please. She needs a good home.
  18. It is a red fuzzy algae that I have seen grow in Cheato. I hear it is difficult to get rid of.
  19. Could also be cotton candy algae. Cheato should not go sexual.
  20. One of our sponsors is top-off.com. I have one of their float switch setups and it is great. Super easy to setup and works perfectly. I use an Aqua Lifter pump to pump from my reservoir to my sump. They are about $12.
  21. I have a male and a female. The male is very fat and the female is very skinny. She is constantly hunting the rocks and in good health, she just needs a tank with more pods. I would be willing to give her to a good home and if you have a frag to spare that would be great. It would have to be at least a tank with over a 100lbs of rock and no other pod eaters (fairy wrasses, sand sifting gobies, other mandarins)
