Because it is illegal like Mike said. Hawaii is very protective of it's beaches. Good thing they didn't search your bag. From what I have read it is technically illegal to even remove shells from the beach there.

I have to hate. I am willing to bet it is stressed by the tank size. I am sorry to tell you that the 58 will still be way too small. That fish will get over a foot! They need at least a 125g or larger. I would suggest finding it a new home and trying another type of fish.

It looks like a Nudibranch to me if the tentacle looking things in the socnd pic are coming from the same creature in your follow up pic. There are Zoa eating Nudibranchs.

I go back and forth on this one. I used to always bleed off the first bit of water before letting it go through the DI. I am not sure how your DI is lasting so long though Marc. Mine was used up in 3 months and I don't use that much water.

Clint you sound like a noob. I personally prefer Tropic Marin's aiptasia killer. Peppermints worked for me until I got my Mystery Wrasse and he ate them all.

I used to have an Orange shoulder Tang that would eat the Nori from my hand and let me pet his side while he ate. Awesome fish! I hope your's makes it.

Hydro Innovations is opening his office this Saturday, July 10th at 11:00 AM for people to come see his new 440 gallon setup. He is offering space for a frag and equipment swap as well. The address is: 1924 hwy 95 north Bastrop 78602. So if you want to come out please post in the thread so he can get an idea on how many people are coming. It's a great chance to see a big, beautiful setup and shoot the breeze with some other reefers. There was also some talk of BBQ.
