Accurate thermometer

Do you know if it goes as low as 75? and if so where did you pick it up?

It goes down to below freezing. It looks like this but its the older model. It was given to me as a gift when I moved here 2 years ago Since I'm a vegetarian I dont use it much for grilling. Just when I grill for company. Little do they know I test my mix water and QT tank water with it.

I know that BRS recommends that thermometer but I have a hard time convincing my wife we need a $65 thermometer. So I was putting a feeler out to see what people had that I could borrow or if they had ideas on cheap thermometers that are accurate enough I could average their readings to calibrate.
