+brian.srock
Milestone on the tank build. Got the concrete counter top poured yesterday. 2 1/2" thick 6ft long so it is heavy at 320lbs so I'll definitely need a hand with it. How did you reenforce it to keep it from cracking?
+brian.srock
Thanks for the offer guys. I used steel wire grid to reinforce. Since I'm still waiting for concrete to cure and it's very cold I decided to work on my new dosing bottles by scrapping off all the lettering and drilling the cap.
+brian.srock
Got all the acrylic cut for my dosing containers. I need to come up with something to mount and holds the bottles. The doser needs to be above the containers and it'd be nice to secure the bottles so they don't fall easily. Any suggestions?Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

+brian.srock
If I can find a 4 bottle holder like this that would work and an acrylic riser could work for the actual doser to give it the height. Just gotta find something reasonably priced.Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
jolt
what about something like a spray bottle holder, here is an example: https://foodsafety.ecolab.com/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=14053&categoryId=18120&productId=3074457345616695903&errorViewName=ProductDisplayErrorView&langId=-1&top_category=18055&parent_category_rn=18055&storeId=10154

There was another that was similar and acrylics but it was way over priced.Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
jolt
Oh I see. I'm so paranoid that I would never let the level get so low I couldn't see it LOL

+brian.srock
I'll be using a Jeabo DCS-12000 which has been highly recommend by both Ty and Juiceman. The price on this thing is awesome and a replacement pump can be switched out in hours if the need ever arises. I may just order a 2nd and run dual returns with the 2nd one running at half power or just keep one as my own backup. I also picked up these food grade silicone pads for noise reduction. I bought dcp 10000 and it’s definitely less noisy than my old dcs pump.

+brian.srock
So v3 of my stand counter top is progressing nicely. Let's not talk about v1 or v2 but that's where the majority of my time has been. Waiting on the rain to stop this week to work on the next steps but maybe by the end of the month I'll have it completed and in the house. I also have a set of leds to install on both side doors and attach hardware but i think its all coming together nicely.
Popular Post +brian.srock
Operation try not to burn the house down was a success. I decided to go with the Shou Sugi Ban look. Next is the wire wheel sanding phase.

Still need to install door lights and handles which I may tackle tonight. Scheduling a day with my brother to give me a hand with a custom concrete counter top for it. Tank location was vetoed due to the wife not liking the glare in it's current location so the tv went back on the wall. Tank will now live in the current tank's location which is where I wanted it originally anyway but it would of been so much easier to have 2 tanks running at the same time. Now I have to figure out how to move the current tank out of the way without fully draining it. I think I still want to buy another 55 gallon tank and make another sump so I don't have to worry about timing. I'll also need to work on the canopy next. I'm thinking of continuing the slat wood mix stain look. I just need to figure out a way to make the canopy hinged and open top. Any ideas? Just catching up on your build... and must say I love this stand. Are those doors basically made out of 1x3s?
+brian.srock
3/8" plywood with 2x4s cut down to 1/4" slats on a table saw. It was cheaper to do it this way but maybe not the easiest. I do like how it looks and I'm hoping its a piece of art in itself.
Popular Post +brian.srock
Sanding has been completed for at least one side. Still need to stain and epoxy. Going with a walnut stain and I'm thinking just 1 coat shound do it. I'm also going to just lightly sand the other side and just throw 1 coat of epoxy and probably paint the underside inside portion white to help with sump reflectivity and ease of cleaning.

+brian.srock
It finally happened. It took us some time because we ended up jacking and cribbing each side then sliding furniture dollys underneath. It has now been moved into my extra room. Redoing the flooring and painting so maybe before the end of year I'll have it in.
